Does anybody know if the '73 Charger SE had a gasket under the base of the hood ornament?I have not been able to find any in reproduction so wondered if the base was attached to the hood without a gasket or if I need to make one for it myself. Any thoughts?

Just went and looked at my '74 SE and did not find one so I'm betting your '73 did not have one either.

I don't think there was one, but after a repaint on mine in 1988, the shop put a very thin flexible black non permanent material under mine, you can notsee it from the sides of the base. I think its better with a little buffer.

Thanks for the feedback! Now my question is regarding the taillights on the 73 SE. I've heard that the lenses on the SE have 2 amber reflectors whereas the straight 73 Charger has all red. Do you know which is correct? Help!

Amber, no all red as required for all cars, front are amber as required

Never any amber used on the taillights; may have amber if exported to Australia and brought up to regulations there.
