Pictures of coolness

B17 is one of my all time favorite "industrial designs".

there was automotive swap meets there on some sundays . it was a cool site to see rolling in on the morning dawn . then again on the way out .

Rather amazing that the 392 Hemi was for only two years----1957-58. And that the blowers used at that time was from a" Detroit Diesel" 6 and 8 cylinder truck or industrial, General Motors engine. 871 blower was for a V8 engine with 71 cubic inches per cylinder. 671 blower was for a V6 or straight 6 cylinder with 71 cubic inches per cylinder. And that those engines were two cycle , which required the blower to push the air through them since there was no intake stroke. ......................MO

Chrysler industrial V Chrysler Firepower?
I have one of each.
I was told that the Chrysler Industrial is the better one because of the solid lifters and different cam?
both are 331's
What do you say MO?

well the indust's blocks and heads were stronger than the car version . do to the way the casting molds were poured . ind's were last on the pours , and the nickle is heavy and settles to the bottom , so the end pours have a high nickle count and thicker cylinder walls . that what i was told . and the ind's also had adjustable rocker gear , which is sot after . but only 331's n 354's were ind's , 392's only made it into cars , and the letter series cars had adjustable valve gear as well . that one with the 6-71 atop it is a 55 301 windsor poly head motor , with 55 c300 hemi heads . it was a easy swap on valley trayed blocks , 331 and 354 polys were done the same way . 331 block.JPG 331 id.JPG DSC04064.JPG DSC04065.JPG the twin carb one is a 54 331 , and this is an ind 54 331 . oh there able to bore the ind's very large as well . in fact i'm boring this ind 331 to a 354 .

Looks like the next post covers it pretty well. I am not that well versed. I have never had a 392, but I have had a mild built 354. I would like to be able to compare the two. I am sure that " Big Daddy" has tried every possible combination of first generation Hemi that there was. ...........................MO
