I used to have a very bad fuel boil issue with a stock iron intake and an Edelbrock carb. So, I swapped the iron for an aluminum intake and the Eddy for a Holly and installed a fuel separator so I could run a return line. But I haven't tried it in the heat since it was installed.

I live in s carolina and it gets hot here. I had a 69 charger with a 440 6pak with no separator and never had a problem. My Bee will have a iron 6 pak intake will I need one, the charger had a 6pak aluminum intake is that why the charger had no problems? Just trying to avoid problems

Mine has been there since day one and still doing it's thing.
BTW the one in the pic should be bolted to the fuel pump.

Never used one myself, BUT with an iron intake in that climate you’d better IMO. Even a 4-bbl would like it. ( global warming, ya know!)

so that separator gets hooked to the tank vent?

Helluva good question.... Separate nipple(?) don’t know for sure. Never dealt with it myself; I wud think a separate nipple from the oem vent, but maybe not.(?)

yes I see line to pump ,pump to separator then separator to carb and separator to ??? tank vent

Had an aftermarket one on the 68. Worked fine.

Always had one on my car, no problems.
There are different sending units for the gas tank. One just has a Supply line and one has a Supply and return line. If using a vapor separator you will need the two line one.

I have one as well. It is one of the bad repops. If you bought one like mine the return orifice may be to large. I cut a 5/16 chunk of bolt shank with the correct size hole through it and stuck it in the line. I have three lines going back, 3/8 fuel, 5/16 return, 1/4 breather to vapor canister behind left rear tire.

I have 2 vent lines on coronet gas tank no canister,I think Im over thinking this

No, should have a 1/4" return line coming off the sending unit. If yours doesn't have one, they are readily available in the aftermarket but reuse your old sending unit lock ring or get one from Bill Rolik. Most aftermarket lock rings are junk

Another thing to do is block off the heat crossover on your intake manifold to cut down on heat under the carburetor.
