Anyone on here running a 68-69 Charger with a 440 and an edelbrock RPM Performer manifold. This is the tall dual plane they offer. I have the Mancini drop base which is about 1.25" and the unsilenced air cleaner and want to know if anyone has run this exact combo (drop base of any included) without hood fitment issues. I am worried I won't clear. I was looking at the Mopar Performance manifold that's identical to the Edelbrock and want to know if I will clear the hood.

Is the motor in the car now with another intake? If so, you could put a wad of clay on top the air cleaner, shut the hood, open the hood & measure how tall the clay is (this would be your current hood clearance). Look up the height specifications for both intakes & do some math. For example, if you have 3" clearance now & the new intake is 2" taller, you're good. If it's 4" taller vs. your current one, it won't fit.

All I can say is that I could not find a combo that fit for my 70 charger. I had to go with a CH4B.

I can't say on a '68 Charger, but when my '69 was on the road, I was running a 440 with a Edelbrock Torker II intake and Holley carb. With a Pro-Form drop base air cleaner, it all fit under the hood. I know the RPM is shorter than the old Torker II intakes were, so with a drop base air cleaner, it should fit.

PurpleBeeper has the right idea to confirm though!

Agreed with the above. I've read somewhere that the underhood clearance is different on a 68/69 than a 70.

I don't have the clearance numbers for a TM7 intake. It is too old to find any of the data anywhere that I can see.

Torker II is about 1/2" shorter than a RPM. I have a '66 Charger w/440 and RPM. Switched from a T2, it took some creative modifications to the kickdown and throttle cable brackets but it works with a drop base air cleaner and 3" filter.

I have a 4 speed so that frees up the kick down.
