Telemarketers bothering people

I wonder just how many people actually buy something from a telemarketer in a spurt of a moment, random call? I sure as heck ain't going to buy anything like that. If I want to do business with you, I'll contact uou. No sense in you contacting me. Post another stupid ad.

They are clearly bottom feeders counting on the feeble of mind or the infirm. They hope to extract what they can before caregivers and or concerned family members can intervene.
This is a cruel world filled with snakes that use very limited senses (that exclude morals and ethics) to feed.--Purse Snatchers--

I remember years ago, people would talk about blowing a police whistle into the phone for the "enjoyment" of telemarketers. Is this illegal? Would it work with a cell phone? Hmmmm...........

For years I enjoyed taking up the time and effort of telemarketers as a kind of sport. (if I was in the mood).

One can be angry or pissed off or they can be entertained.

In the game of scamming we (the being called) have a huge advantage. We Have the leading hand from the outset and cannot lose unless we fold.

In the game of poker, the winner is the one that takes the pot. ---The only way for a scammed/bluffed to lose is to fold.

Scammers are a ---guaranteed ---bluff. ---This is not lottery stuff.--The odds of winning from scammers drops to zero. (or in most cases worse).

I bought something from a telemarketer ONCE. It was a travel hotel discount offer $60 a year. Used AAA travel book to compare the hotels offered by Hotels at Half Price. It ended up 40% off. Saved money on trips to Hawaii, ocean front rooms, or 2 bedroom condo type rooms.

When it's a woman on the phone thats trying to sel, something I go *** on her and usually don't get another call back

What I prefer to do is extract every bit of the pitch ---and pick it apart bit by bit.
I actually once got a scammer to the point of tears.
He admitted to me--On the phone- that he was only nineteen and was just repeating a script.
He likely got fired promptly.
I think I did him a big favor with my conflict/confrontation with him.

There are a LOT of dumb, gullible people in the word. It must be profitable or they wouldn't do it.

Lately I have been getting the same ones calling 3-4 times a day. Nomorobo catches one, but they keep calling back. I have even got some that the caller I.D. has the callers number as my number. I also have noticed a few that have a way to bypass Nomorobo. They're getting good at this.

No landline for many, many years. With my cell, I can go into my settings and set only certain numbers to get through and all others just don't ring. Figured this might help some of you.

What I see is that the volume of clutter with telemarketing is killing their entire enterprise as a -disjointed- enterprise.-- It is just basic scraping.
When you kill the goose-and cut the head off--and pluck the feathers--and eat the goose where do you go next?
We are living moment by moment these days.

Thanks for that--this stuff can get real and sick very fast.
My efforts are to place the light of day of the scammers/roaches.

BTW this is not silly or funny in any way. Scammers are vermin.

If I'm in the mood, I'll play. I start doing the questioning. I immediately ask him what his name is. He'll reply with his first name. Then I ask, what's your last name. Usually, a mumble or no answer. I quickly ask, where are you located. A general reply. Then I say, I want to know exactly where you're physically located. He'll then ask why I want to know. Then I say, "because I want to go there and ram my fist down your throat". CLICK.

I just scream frantically into the phone , is this 911 are you sending help ? I shot everyone in the building and the voices say keep going! I get a faint wtf click never call back , or I pick up .

City moruge you kill um we grill um thus is Ted , who did you kill today?

Or just plain .
Palm Bay (insert your city name )police department this is scams and fraud devison !

Or if I don't have alot of time I'll just say f#"k off and hang up

I’m ashamed to admit I was once taken by a scammer. That’s why I know it will NEVER happen again nor has it since. I was called back in 1983ish about a “deal” to vacation in a spot of my choice - from several offered. I stayed on the phone with the original scammer and then started to waffle so they called in the heavy. In the end I coughed up the $300 I believe they were asking for as long as they sweetened the scam. They did - I bought and actually gave them my credit card over the phone. What I got in return was a bunch of neon colored paper coupons depicting the right to call hotels and whatever else to make my arrangements. I think I made one call to a resort and when they didn’t even know what I was talking about I realized I was taken. Young and dumb at the time I didn’t even know to call the credit card company and dispute the charge. I was so ashamed of being scammed that I never told anyone - I was too embarrassed. I did tell my mom years later and she said “Geez Kevin that doesn’t sound like you”. It wasn’t something I would normally do - I don’t know what happened to me......

Since then I’ve never given a telemarketer even 3 seconds on the phone. I got my baptism by fire as they say. What a chump I felt like. I still think about it from time to time - will NEVER happen to me again even when I’m old and infirm...... Scumbags!

I do not answer any call that I don't recognize. They can leave me a message and then I'll reply if I want to.

That's why they keep calling. Kind of like walking into a bar and asking every women there if they want to have sex. You'll get slapped in the face 20 times, but sooner or later you'll get lucky.

Isn't it easier to just hang up?

Yes.

Do you get some of these calls?---If you get many does it feel like a bother to you?

I get calls every day. sometimes many. I hang up on 99% of them.
To me, they are kinda like --(hold on--they are just like) ---commercials on broadcast TV.--They are just irritating like mosquitoes.

Once in a while, I get curious and will lead a scammer on just for the sport of it.
For me, it is nothing more than just joining their game.
I know that they will never get a dime from me but they don't know that.

It is a very simple game and usually lasts less than a few minutes.

But I have had a few of these games last nearly an hour.:D

BTW I have never lost in this game cause I know the rules and my hand in the game is always a winning hand.

Cheers --Steve for living and dealing with the clutter we all live with these days.

Im sure some are scammers but my experience is there just poor souls working at a dead end job, getting a peanut sized commission trying to sell some service or product. We receive numerous calls promising to reduce our utility payments or trying to sell solar energy. Somethings there more on the questionable side.
Id think to be a tele-marketer you'd need a thick skin but i wonder when people think there clever in there replies , those tele marketers are just laughing on the other end? Thats why i just hang up.
