Telemarketers bothering people

Im sure some are scammers but my experience is there just poor souls working at a dead end job, getting a peanut sized commission trying to sell some service or product. We receive numerous calls promising to reduce our utility payments or trying to sell solar energy. Somethings there more on the questionable side.
Id think to be a tele-marketer you'd need a thick skin but i wonder when people think there clever in there replies , those tele marketers are just laughing on the other end? Thats why i just hang up.

These "poor souls" know what their mission is. They may be young but they are coached to scam. If they were to feeble of mind to not know that they would not be on the phones.

BTW good luck to those that chose to swim in the polluted waters of cold calling sales. The scammers have essentially ruined it for all.

Do you get some of these calls?---If you get many does it feel like a bother to you?

I get calls every day. sometimes many. I hang up on 99% of them.
To me, they are kinda like --(hold on--they are just like) ---commercials on broadcast TV.--They are just irritating like mosquitoes.

Once in a while, I get curious and will lead a scammer on just for the sport of it.
For me, it is nothing more than just joining their game.
I know that they will never get a dime from me but they don't know that.

It is a very simple game and usually lasts less than a few minutes.

But I have had a few of these games last nearly an hour.

BTW I have never lost in this game cause I know the rules and my hand in the game is always a winning hand.

Absolutely! Some are scammers, no doubt. Others are just cold calling trying to hawk a product or service. Lousy way to make a dollar if you ask me. Either way i just say no thanks and hang up.

I have been hanging up on them for long enough. Enough is enough! Time to fight back. I am going to attack them personally, degrade them for the choice they have made in taking this job, and shame them for what they are doing. Its from the Democrat play book. You have seen the lib Dems on TV shouting "shame" at people who are working for Trump.

+1, When I get them so pissed that they start swearing at me, I really feel like I accomplished something. Just the other night, I led the guy on for about 20 minutes. Then, I said,"Yeah, that sounds like a pretty good policy. I am interested. Why don't you drop the paperwork off at your mother's house and I will look it over when I go see her later." There was a brief pause. Then the guy yelled, "NO MOTHER F!@#CKER, I'LL BE DROPPING IT OFF AT YOUR MOTHER'S HOUSE WHEN I STOP BY TO F@#$K HER IN THE A$$ YOU F@#$KING BITCH HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT MOTHER F!@#CKER!!!" The other callers in the room had to hear him loud and clear. It made me wonder if maybe his boss might have overheard him or if management ever listened to recordings of the calls to make sure their callers were folowing the scripts.

I have to laugh when I get a caller with a strong India like accent and the first thing they say is something like.--Hello sir I am calling from the USA---.

I've got to the point where I look forward to the calls. We get the ones that say "I need to talk to the person in charge of the electric bill" the power company knows this, so right off I know it's a teli...I'll say I don't have electricity...a pause...and then they'll ask "well how do you get power?" I'll say anything from windmill in the back yard....generator...one time I said I run an extension cord to the old lady's house next door......girl said "that's illegal!! I'll call the cops!" I asked her if she wanted their phone number.
Usually after telling them I don't have electricity, they'll ask who handles the natural gas bill.....I tell them that the only natural gas in my house comes out of my ***....click
I did that to one guy and he started laughing his *** off. He said "I know you're screwing with me but that just made my day!"

I had a persistent caller maybe 45 years ago.
It was a young male voice asking to speak to Michell.
I said sorry- you dialed the wrong number. The calls came every few days for weeks and my response was always the same. --Wrong number. (it was true)

One day this kid called again asking for Michell and I said hold on a sec.--I yelled out for Michell--so he could hear me.

Back on the phone, I told the caller that Michell was in her bedroom taking care of three boyfriends and was almost done. I explained that the last one was a little slow but almost there and if he would just hold the phone for a bit she will be right down.

Well, this kid hung up and never called again.--I always wondered if I helped or hurt Michell? -- Life is all about learning.
