Rumor has it that Jiim sold the rights to the Nats last night.
Supposedly, the event is moving again.
I heard Michigan

Yup.. I remember the Indy show too. The cops were ******** everywhere in the area that week-end. My wife and I were at a Motel on Michigan Ave 20 miles from the track and it was a steady light show from squad cars stopping every Mopar that was moving. They even pulled a gal out of a Mustang and arrested her for cruising. Guess those cops couldn't tell a Mustang from a Mopar. One of the guys staying at our Motel was a Lawyer from California with a Hemi Cuda that went to jail for going out to eat. His car went to a tow yard on a hook. Some of us were smart enough to order a pizza delivery. We almost got arrested for sitting out in the parking lot watching the light show. The cops told us that vagrancy was against the law. I thought better of asking them if they knew the meaning of vagrancy. Pretty intense entertainment.Any of you fellows remember when there was some kind of arrangement dispute between can't think of the guy who put the nationals on. Anyway national trails wouldn't host the event. So it was moved to indy. We all thought man indy will be cool car town, not this time with law enforcement anyway. Tickets left and right, threatening to arrest us for being in hotel parking lot after ten. Three of us in parking lot cold sober quietly waxing our cars and they asked us call it a night. Any one remember that.

yep knew you guys would remember, no kidding mopars and indy didn't jive there. We were literally just quietly waxing the cars no radios no yelling. We didn't stay long my friend got wire from a wire wheel in his forearm and it got infected, it was swelled up big time. This was second day went to urgent care and doctor put him on strongest antibiotics they had. He said man you mind if we head home, i said lets go the office visit was more fun then the welcome we mopar guys got at indy.
Yeah, I remember Indy. Went there. Didn't think much of it. Here's an idea how bout the show promoter or who ever runs the Nats shut the whole show down there and move it over to Englishtown and revamp it like it was in the heyday of the late 80's and work on the family or whoever shut down the track there this year to reopen it up. Place is huge and see if it works. If not, well guess the Nats will die off like everyone seems to be saying slowly. Maybe there is to many shows and everyone getting burned out? Maybe a big show out West and big show on East. There are a few in mid West also. Carlisle has a lot of shows and then Hershey. Sometimes you get burned out but then again they have a variety of different folks with different strokes.
Just read in Mopar Collectors Guide in Robs article last night that Mopars at Englishtown may be rejuvenated and they may bring the track back in 2019 as by the selling of the Nats.
I don't go on line to read it but I get the magazine. I can try to go on line and copy and paste it here. Just a short mention of it in his editorial up in front pages.I dropped my subscription after decades can you post the article here so others can read it as I have heard those rumors also...

i believe your correct on the circumstances thanksThe problem was the Nats outgrew Columbus so moved to Indy. But we got such a shitty reception from EVERYONE that many people said they'd never go back (I never did). National trail expanded and the Nats moved back.
