Hello. I was trying to find a picture of a true '66 Ply. S/S car, to see if it came from the factory with a hood scoop and what it looks like. I would also like to know, which company makes a faithful reproduction of one. Does anyone make the repro underhood scoop parts? I have a feeling that they didn't come from the factory with a hood scoop. I know the '63 (possibly the '62's, also), the '64, the '65, the '67 and the '68's came with a hood scoop. I think I saw an article about a factory '69 racecar.

Its the super low one, only an inch or so high at the back, like Mr Fiberglass used to make.

There was no drag race "package" car from Chrysler in 1966 so none had a factory hood scoop. They did have the WO/RO cars in 1967 and they came with a scoop. Those scoops will fit a '66.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but this is supposed to be an original car.

Sorry this is a Sport Satellite not a Super Stock car, my bad.

Oh, I thought I might be correct, when I couldn't find a picture of a '66 S/S Plymouth/Dodge. The really low and wide scoop was the '65 one. Thanks for all the help. I guess I will have to go without a hood scoop on my Fury. I can use the high beam holes to make an intake like the one on the '64 Fairlane Thunderbolts! That would be cool. I really like the '67 Scoop. Maybe I should get a beater '67 Coronet 2-door sedan and sell my '66 Fury I.

I have the plate that bolts under the hood of an RO/WO 67.

I talked with Austin about his car, and he raced it a very short time, from new. I have the twin car, that was raced by Jimmy Evans. They used to race each other....and were identical when new.

The two cars above are probably AHRA cars. AHRA had different rules than NHRA. They had optional stock and formula stock. Forgot to mention , I make those scoops on a regular basis and they are mounted clear to the rear of the hood.

Not to threadjack, but glassman your pm box is full. if your still making the RO scoop I'm interested in buying one. Shoot me a Pm or post here. Thanks!
