Roller Rockers and Stock Valve Covers

Going to be building up a 440/503 stroker for the Coronet. I am sure this has been covered, no pun, but I am using Crane roller rockers with a yet to get determined cam over 5 but probably less than 6 lift and I would like to use stock cover
Any experience would be welcome.

Crane gold on mine, using stock four bolt covers, no problem with interference. I am looking at 3br (or is it br3?) geometry correction and that usually lifts and moves the shaft. It may or may not cause problems with stock covers.
Edit: .650 lift regrind of a .714 lift crower roller.
Re-edit: I do now remember having to "adjust" the baffle under the oil fill. (Ball peen hammer).

Good question, I have the same issue coming up very shortly. I know four bolt valve covers have been problems for some anyways, but has anyone successfully used two high quality gaskets and studs to gain the needed clearance??? What gaskets would be best for such an attempt? And wasn't there a post regarding a valve cover shim?? Who made those?? TIA, Lefty71

Stock valve covers with Comp roller rockers, Comp xe274 cam, .500+ exhaust lift. No interference issues.

It's the large aluminum rocker shaft hold down blocks that cause big fit issues in the front and rear positions. Those need to be clearanced if used with stock rockers.
Watch for baffle contact as others mentioned, if your covers are baffled.
For better sealing and a somewhat stock look, use the cheap cast aluminum valve covers that are plain, no ribs or logos, and paint them with the engine.

I use valve cover spacers. I bought some off Medice Manufacturing.
Really well made and you can get various thickness of spacer.

For some additional input I am running a Crower .604" valve lift camshaft with a B3 racing valve-train geometry kit, Harland Sharp rockers and with the old Cal-Custom valve covers I had it didn't come close to allowing enough clearance. I don't know how those compare to factory covers volume but the exhaust side of the cover would interfere.

I used the fabricated aluminum covers you can find on eBay and the just fit. Just the included rubber gasket was used and the baffles cleared fine.

If you want to use the stock covers with no spacers, you could split your valve covers legnth wise and weld in a filler to get the right height. Yes, it's more work, but still stock appearing, more so than other fabricated covers

It will work but will probably need some tweaking of the baffle where the adjusters might hit. If you can get shorter adjusters that might be the easiest.
