An assistant high school principal in Missouri allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old student whose family considered her to be a mentor for the teen, making sure “he got on the right path,” according to the boy’s father.

A former Patrick Henry High School science teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a minor was granted a $50,000 bond on Friday.

Miranda Nicole Pauley, 34, of Hanover, said little while appearing from Pamunkey Regional Jail by video for her bond hearing.

Hanover Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Judge Shannon O. Hoehl attached a series of conditions to Pauley’s secured bond. Among them is that Pauley is not allowed to have any contact with the alleged victim, and she is not to leave Virginia without court permission.

Pauley is not allowed to have contact with anyone under age 18, unless that minor is accompanied by a parent or guardian. The defendant also is not allowed on any school property except for a single trip to retrieve her personal belongings from the Hanover School Board building in Ashland.

Pauley was employed as a Hanover teacher from 2006 until Thursday, when she was arrested and charged with four felony counts of indecent liberties by a custodian. She was also charged with one felony count of use of a communication system for crimes against children, the Hanover Sheriff’s Office said. All of the charges are Class 6 felonies.

Sgt. James Cooper, with the Hanover Sheriff’s Office, said the charges entailed a sexual relationship with a minor, but he declined to say if the allegations involved one of her students.

The specifics of the allegations were not discussed during the hearing. Hanover Commonwealth’s Attorney R.E. “Trip” Chalkley III declined to discuss the allegations following the hearing.

Pauley’s defense attorney, James C. Driggs, also declined to comment after the hearing.

The arrest warrants that investigators filed with the court said the alleged offenses occurred in November and December of 2017 and in May of this year.

Chris Whitley, a spokesman for the Hanover Public Schools, said school district officials referred the matter to their human resources department after they became aware of Pauley’s arrest Thursday. Pauley is no longer employed by the school system, Whitley said.

A preliminary hearing in the case was set for July 12.

The Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with additional information about the case to contact them at (804) 365-6140 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. You can also contact Crime Stoppers by going online to www.7801000.com or using the P3 Tips app for smartphones. All Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.

BEDFORD
A 33-year-old school counselor is accused of having sex with a ninth-grade student nearly a dozen times and even told the student's sister that she would leave her husband for him, according to an arrest affidavit.

The student ended the relationship after his mother caught them in bed in his room, the affidavit says.

Shannon Hathaway, a former school counselor at Harwood Junior High School, surrendered to Bedford police on Thursday morning on a charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student.

There's a counselor that needs counseling, and her license revoked

Former coach, substitute teacher arrested on child seduction charges

3112887-M.jpg

A Bloomfield woman who worked at two Greene County schools is facing two felony child seduction charges.

Morgan Judy, 23, is facing Level 5 felony child seduction and Level 6 felony child seduction. She served as the Bloomfield Cheerleading Coach and as a full-time substitute at Linton-Stockton High School. Judy was booked into Greene County Jail at 4:56 p.m. on a $14,000 bond with 10 percent and has bonded out.

According to a probable cause affidvait filed in Greene Circuit Court by Indiana State Police Detective Brad Stille, the charges stem from an incident in early May.

The probable cause states ISP was contacted by Bloomfield School after learning Judy was allegedly sexually involved with a student.

The student reportedly told Stille in an interview that Judy invited the student to a party through the social networking site Twitter.

“(Student) advised while at the party, (student) and Morgan Judy kissed, but did not have sex,” Stille wrote.

Judy was also interviewed and told the detective she was intoxicated at the party, and denied kissing or any sexual relations with the student.

“Later, Morgan was confronted about (student) admitting to kissing, Morgan replied that she didn’t remember due to the alcohol, but would have remembered if she and (student) had sex. Morgan said she probably did invite (student) to the party,” Stille wrote in the probable cause.

In a follow-up interview after a search warrant was obtained on Judy and the student’s cell phone, Still asked if the student was being honest. The student allegedly stated they did more than kiss.

Judy later admitted to kissing the student in another interview, but denied other allegations.

“Morgan advised that she deleted the communication between (student) off of her phone because ‘it would look bad,’” Stille wrote.

In a June interview, the student reportedly provided more details about the incident and showed messages between Judy and the student which were backed up on a computer where she reportedly told the students not to tell anyone the “hickies” were from her and that she had “huge hickies” on her neck.

She also reportedly told the student to delete the messages and to deny anything happened and to tell others she was “incoherent and couldn’t even speak a straight sentence lol.”

“Morgan told (student) to delete the text messages and the Twitter messages, her contact number from (student’s) cell phone and to stop texting her,” Stille wrote.
