Something you do but never improve upon?

Don't worry about "being good enough" Cranky. I shot USPA for years, now shooting IDPA. I have long ago learned that there is ALWAYS going to be a faster/better shooter, but I don't care. I shoot for the fun of it.

As for competitive shooting not being cheap, if you're going to do it regularly, reloading is a MUST.
Kinda like drag racing or building a nice car....there's always going to be someone faster or better, right!? I shot for the fun of it too but it was mostly at the range and just among friends out for some enjoyment, indoor and outdoor. Either way, not cheap depending on how much you shoot but comp shooting is way more expensive and especially so if you go to all of the events.

Yes, all the events can get quite expensive. I just go to the local club match once a month ($28 match fee + a $40/yr membership). Just enough to keep the skills up and have fun, but not enough to get burned out (been there, done that). When I was shooting USPA in the '90's, I was shooting once a week and twice every other week, not to mention inter club weekend matches. THAT is when I started reloading.

My neighbor has a street car with 4000 hp. I live in a very small town and have zero chance of having the fastest car.
As far as shooting goes, I just bought 5000 rounds of shotgun shells for my son. (Hoping that lasts the whole month.)
Still can’t get enough of cars or guns. It’s like a drug addiction.

Did some reloading years ago but quit doing that even and let a buddy of mine keep my dies etc. He had the press, scale and all that so, let him have my stuff and whenever I needed to reload something, just went over to his place. Don't think he has it anymore because he went through a nasty divorce too and sold everything he had and I'm sure he sold my stuff too.

What's he running with that kind of HP?

Love my wife, and kids, because it would be impossible to improve.

Penmanship and body-building. Handwriting looks like crap and believe or not, when I work out consistently at the gym my waist size gets a tiny big bigger and my muscle measurements get a tiny bit smaller (must be genetic). I add some heavier weights at first, then no progress. Same thing with cardio, instead of it getting me into better shape it only zaps what reserve energy I have. Don't bother making suggestions for improvement, I am a hopeless case (should donate my dead body to science).

I honestly don't know which hobby costs more.... The cars or the firearms. I have to limit myself with both. My select-fire stuff will dump 6-10 bucks in about 2-3 seconds, per magazine. I tend to shoot in burst mode.

Making time for myself. I have things I need to do for myself, but everyone else seems to find other things for me to do.

Welding with my little pissy weld PAC welder ! I'm a wiz with the big expensive units ! But this cheapo little linkin welder it can only do so much and can never get better! Thought it was me ! I let a guy that has 30 years experience take a turn he told me to to toss it just need to spend more time cleaning my welds one day I'll upgrade and see if I'm just slipping

Golf, and saying NO to people who want me to do stuff for them.

Got down to a 10 handicap...then kids happened. Not much time for a selfish sport like golf when you have young children.

However, people still keep filling my spare time with their crap.

That last 1/32” is a real b—-. $15 for a box of .22rf(?)

I've mastered the ART of saying NO! A childhood of watching my dad get taken advantage of taught me that people are moochers. I jump at the opportunity to help those who will help themselves but not the mooches! The way I see it is if I can bust my *** to get where I'm at so can anyone else.

I'm very capable with any firearm, other than a revolver. I hate those relics. I combat shoot, and after getting to my plateau of pistol and long-gun capabilities...I've gone into NFA stuff. I really don't need to get "better" with the firearms, but scenario training could be always be better.
While in basic in the AF, I couldn't qualify with the M-16 but did with a .38 which was a bit odd I was told lol.

One time I spent 8 hours showing a guy how to rebuild an 8 3/4 chunk and he never did rebuild any after that but about a year later he had some parts for sale. This is after giving him plenty of E body trim over the years. I would pull of off parted cars just for him. He used to fix it up and make it look like new again but did he ever give me a break on prices or reciprocate? Nope. Finally, once I needed some 11" brake drums for a build and he hit me in the head on price and I let him know my displeasure. He did give me a break but geez, what goes around comes around and from then on, he got what he sowed. He got no more free trim or free how to classes. He's dead now....and no, I didn't kill him. :D

Being patient is something I try to get better at but dont. I get tired of watching and waiting on people to get something done or get out of my way. Maybe this is part of getting older and grouchier. Other than that I would say shooting. I like to but cant find enough time to do it regularly. When I do it aint cheep.
