A member on FBBO contacted me to do a 6.1 Hemi swap in his 67’ Belvedere a month or so ago and so it’s on! I found a 6.1 on eBay that has the Eagle heads so he bought it. Came with a core 545rfe, but we decided to use the 727 that is in the car.

It’s going to have full TTI exhaust, rebuild the 727 and power steering, still up in the air to either go with a Borgenson box or have Firm Feel do a stage 2 rebuild. Battery will move to the trunk to make room for the air cleaner. I’ll be posting the build/swap as I get moving on this.

No over drive at this point, but a GV’s is not out of the question down the road.

I’m looking at TTI’s site and seeing which headers fit with what steering box.

I have a GV I'm thinking about Selling ?

Send me a pm and I’ll let the owner know, or wait a bit and he’s gonna chime in here and go straight to him.

Had to repaint the block cause it was black and not orange. Painted the front accessory drives Argent Siler. Milodon oil pan is loosely bolted due changing out the rear main seal, changed the front as well. Bought a bunch of button head stainless bolts for the intake, valve covers and coil packs. Put a Jeep SRT8 power steering pump on as well.

I’ll update pics when the engine is assembled.

Here’s some pics of it painted. Still need to install rear main seal then snug up the oil pan.

oddly enough it doesnt sag on the stand as much as my 440 did. Looks like the same stand i have. The 440 must be a pig. :)

Zack, I like your oil dipstick much better than the one Bouchillion provided me. Not sure if you will be using the factory gauges or not but if so, Here are a couple pics of my 6.1 install and a few things I needed to do. I needed to provide a vintage water temp sensor and oil pressure sensor to work with my factory gauges along with a 45 degree oil filter set up. Also a pic of the catch can I used. If you need to drill and tap the hole for the water temp sender, you will want to do it before the intake goes on for the last time. I mounted everything on the K frame before install into the body. It helps make things easier to check clearances and fitment.

There is a pipe plug on the water pump that is used to bleed out any air from the factory, could you have used that? I ordered the 90* filter adapter from Mancini and it should be here tomorrow. I’ll need to make sure the gauges work along with adding a couple.

I used that access for the fan control switch. Needed one more for the gauge sender.

Engine mounts and 90* oil filter adapter installed. That sending unit will need to come off and a pipe plug put in its place.

Too late, the owner of this swap bought it.
