Hey guys, I installed new floor pans on my 68 Charger and I need to know the locations of a couple of things. First off, I need a measurement for the location of the speedometer cable bracket. The second thing that I need is the location of the holes for the gas pedal mounting studs. My original floor was rusted and hacked up in this area so I could not make reference marks on the new pans. Thanks!

The studs that are on the bottom of the gas pedal pad go through the floor pan. They are in the same general vicinity of the bracket for the speedometer cable.

Heres a couple pics I hope this helps,these are from a 69

I have a picture with measurements somewhere for the speedo cable holder, but can't find it. This one will get you close enough, you can see it beside the exhaust pipe! Also don't forget / be aware that there was also a clip on the frame rail ! There are also pedal bolt measurements in a restoration thread here somewhere.. wanna say The Rebels, posted by @moparnation74

I don’t recall that thread but you may be right Wayne....

I have those pics on my laptop and will try to post tonight....

It sure would be nice if there was a book that would list all the hardware needed to restore a b-body!
Maybe one of Dave Wise's books?

I spent a lot of time showing and comparing hardware in my build thread....DW book shows a fair amount as well....thing is there is no money for anyone to get book together...

Just think how many people actually would spend the money for DW books? IMHO it is money well spent no matter what type of build people are doing. They are not 100% correct but there is a plethora of good information in his books........

Thanks for the replies guys. I know that the holes are right next to the cable bracket but I'm unsure of the measurement. I even have a picture that I saved of a car on the rotisserie with that area in the pic, but I have no measurement. I may be able to reference the ribs in the floor pan and come up with a measurement that way

I have pics with measurements but I can’t access them now. They are on my laptop at home......

Those same pics are on a thread here I posted for another member. I just can’t recall which one....

Have you tried to search for that thread here?

I have not, but now that I know there is a thread with the measurements I will search for it. Thanks Justin

Chris

looks nice. Do you have a thread for this car?
I'm still amazed, after a year plus of being here, as to how many don't use the "new posts" to browse here or browse through the members restorations section for ideas. It was the first thing I did after joining and what I do on any forum using the "new posts" icon with each visit, then you miss nothing! Of course you never get off the computer.. but..

..but the first 35 pages start here.... so grab a beer first !

No worries lol. Personally I am self described as a little ADD and all the stuff in this site, I could look at it 8 hrs a day for a year and still not see it all or keep up lmao

But you didn’t find the thread yet?:D
LOL, I wasn't looking for it! I was looking for my speedo location picture with dimensions! Guess if I went out to the shop I could just take a picture of my printed out picture I gave my metal man.. if it's still there. Same deal with your gas pedal location pics... lol
