Does this look like an original VIN stamping on a 70 Charger?

Does it match your VIN? Straight on would be nice for a better view. Is that a C after the 0?

That's the only picture I have. Yes, matches the VIN and the VIN on tranny. Just looked really crappy to me...not clear.

Make sure the date codes make sense for the build date of the car etc. Some of the factory stampings are pretty poor. I would be more concerned if the stamping was perfect.

Whats the casting date on the passenger side? What are the numbers on the ID pad? What are the vin numbers/letters on the vin pad?

Clear better pictures would be helpful....

Is crappy stamping the only doubt you have, or is there other reasons?

Here is mine, on a 69 runner, matches the vin and trans.
Edit: what assembly plant is yours, i cant make it out. Clarity of the stamping may be dependant on who is doing it where that day.

Here is mine, '69er though so i have the full VIN on the pad.
The stamping is far from perfect on mine.
Same as with 33 IMP his stamping, mine also is so darn close to the lower edge, yours is more in the middle.
But as mentioned, it might depend who did it.
Maybe some employers at those days did it with some good work ethics, some couldn't care less if it looks good or not.
Think who stamped mine still had enough alcohol in his/her blood to loose their licence for 6 months. :D

Also looks like on your stamping pad you can still see some milling marks which are most of the time visible.
Modern day milling will not leave marks like that and will appear much smoother, so if it would have been re-machined it would not look as rough.

Yes..am looking to buy it. Everything else is good with build sheet. Probably not going to get better photos of pad...would mean scraping paint etc.
