Oil Leak at rear of 383

Thanks! Yet another supplier to add to my bookmarks!

Superformance is listing an oil pan gasket under "Chrysler Big Block, 361-440 & Hemi. 1959-1978".

Is that what I want for the 383 in my '69 RR?

361 & 383 & 440 all used the same block? ... just with different borings?
 
Did you ever figure out what it was? I’m having the same problem with my 66 charger with a 383
 
Keep in mind that if this is a 383 Road Runner, it will have a windage tray as well, which means you will require two oil pan gaskets.
 
So did you get the superperformance oil pan gasket? Thinking about trying it myself.
 
If you use too long of a oil pan bolt that goes into the seal retainer, you will punch a hole through the retainer! The oil pan gasket will not completely cover the hole for the bolt and you will have a leak!

Those nubs can hit #5 main cap. Friend was the engine guy at a Plymouth dealer in late 60's. He did an engine and it leaked, never happened before. Pull the pan and looked around and saw the nubs hitting the cap. A little kiss on the grinder if in doubt.
 
I have used fluorescent dyes to find leaks the engine, trans, and power steering a couple of times. Works great and shows you exactly where the leak is originating.

I've always had to cut down those two oil pan bolts (or heaven forbid, buy shorter ones) to get them them to tighten properly.
