Stuck in the past, just North of Montana....
Roughly 30 years ago I moved from small town Alberta, Canada to small city Alberta, Canada. Life decided that things were moving onward. I had two small children and a great wife.......still have them.......not so small anymore! Anyway, when it came time to move I cleaned house. I only had a small house at the time, but, I did have a garage. It was filled with stuff I did not want to or could not move with me. I gave it all away. Engines, antiques, tools etc., and a car. I gave the car to a relative, Cousin Fred. He was more than happy to take it away and I was happy he wanted to. Well, 30 years later, Fred passed away. Sadly he left many unfinished projects. My old car was one of them. So I asked the family what they were going to do with it. Well, it will be mine again.
The story of the car is I got it with a damaged lower control arm. I replaced that and got a decent running engine in it. But, I went away to work and only had water in the block........it froze! Oh well, small block Chev. No great loss. They were $50 a pop back then....still can be. Anyway, it sat in my garage until it was time to move. That is where the relationship ended.........until today. I went back to have a look. I will be retrieving it tomorrow. I am very excited. It's actually still in really good shape, for a 1973 Nova coupe. Yes it is only a 73, but it brings back memories of days gone by.........I was a die hard Nova guy back then!

Road trip!

This car sat for 30 years in this spot. Thank goodness he never let it go to somebody else.

Nova looks to be in great shape what's under hood ?

I could use a Nova roller or something similar for a light project..... been looking to find some thing so I can get this SBC that we've been using for a doorstop outta the barn to make room for more Mopar goodies.

Gotta save that Vista Cruiser! Find an Olds DRCE block and have some fun.

It's just a 307 car, but yes it is in great condition. I always liked Novas and Venturas. My first was a 69 Acadian. They are what lead me to start on Dusters and Demons, which were Chrysler's quickly designed answer to the Nova.

that is what most gm guys consider the " last " good year of the nova.
73-s in good condition are Rarely seen around the east.
yours looks to be in great condition.

wondering, whats up with the other cars?
i see a that 70s show ~ olds vista cruiser and what appears to be a 69? olds cutlass coupe.

Thats awesome!
I know I'll get a lot of boo's for this but it's perfect for an LS swap. A bone stock one will smoke the tires all day, get 20 mpg and are in my estimation the best investment for any bowtie. You could have that car up and running for $2500+/-. There is not a SBC out there I would take over an LS. The 80k mile one we put in my FILs 67 screams and it's bone stock .

Amen to That.
completely agree,he could have true muscle in his car for dirt cheap.
that would be the way id go,and snag it out of a Running truck if possible.

Damn this site is becoming hot rod mag,car rap mag, what the heck is a lp swap?
basically, its chevys newest line of engine generations.
it finally put to rest the old design 350,
which to be brutally honest sucked and you had to throw all sorts of parts at it to make it perform.

like Mike said, its capable of 400hp and will sit there purring like a kitten..Stock.
it IS the new chevy smallblock of the future..
funny thing is tho,if< i recall correctly, the basic design of block and heads are Buick 350.
(someone correct me if im wrong there please.)

Well an L.p. swap is what radio station DJs used to do between songs...
An LS is a modern GM V8. Used in trucks and cars like camaros, vettes, gtos, some impalas.Cars have aluminum blocks trucks were iron and have been ( with upgrades) supporting 1000hp. Mains are cross bolted IIRC.
