Eddie Money wont be down for breakfast

R.I.P.

"Life For The Taking"

People say
Look at the money they save
But I don't believe that life's that way
An old man
Once looked at me in the eye
He seemed to sigh
He seemed to sigh, don't let life pass you by
No no no, no no no
He seemed to say
He wanted me to run
The old man was once a boy, yeah
And only young once
Because it's life for the taking
Well, it ain't no, ain't no mistakin'
Well, it's life
It's my life
Life for the taking
I can remember
When I was just a little kid
The big boys used to beat me up a bit
But I learned young that I couldn't cry
My mamma wasn't gonna be by my side
She said it's life, life for the taking
Well, it ain't no, isn't no mistakin'
Well, it's life
It's my life
Life for the taking
Taking, taking
Ooh, yeah
'Cause it's life
Life for the taking
Well, it ain't no, ain't no mistakin'
It's my life
It's my life, baby
I wanna, I wanna, yeah
Life for the taking

Damn, that’s too bad. I liked his music.

RIP Eddie. He had some great music. His mainstream hits aside, songs like Trinidad, Give me some water, and I wanna go back come to mind as really great songs.

Listening to you now. Goddam those cigarettes.

RIP Eddie
he was well known in the east bay area
big partiers

esophageal cancer (throat)

really liked his music

Liked most of his music too. Makes you wonder how much the environment (drugs, cigs, booze etc) had to do with it. Some it seems can go on and on into late in life abusing their bodies while others can't take much. There were a couple of 95 year old sisters on the news the other day saying they attributed their long life to plenty of beer....and no sex, but that sure sounds like a dull life to me!

A co-worker died from throat cancer....didn't smoke either but he worked in some refinery units that processed some really nasty stuff. And you know there's no such thing as a perfect seal so you could smell the product being run when you were in the unit. When I hired on, most pumps were still using packing seals but shortly after, the conversion to mechanical seals took place. The packing crap needed to have some leakage to lube the packing, kinda like our old engines from the factory needed for the rear packing seal to live.

my Uncle Ron died from it too, but he was 85
he was a pack a day smoker for some 40+ years
he was a drinker too, not a boozer, but he drank

sad it takes some really good people

Eddie Money had a really harsh voice for decades
I heard him in person many times
him & one of my cousins (Mike) ran in the same crowd
in both El Cerrito (near Berkeley) & also a lot in Lafayette areas
their lifestyles, that weren't good for your long term health
lots of inhaled powders & drunks

If I had a Camel Filter, I’d smoke it right now. Just one. God I miss em.

If you smoked 'just one' you'd probably be hooked on 3 packs a day and drinking a 12 pack too....:D
