What strange foods do you eat that others don't understand??

I can dip anything in ranch and enjoy it!!

Sugar Frosted Flakes and Mustard sandwiches. ummmmm

Of course, I HAVE been eating an inordinate amount of Granma Utz kettle chips lately, eh

Ed if you're trying to eat all of those chips your doctor is going to give you the dickens when your cholesterol level is through the roof!

Now you made me hungry and homesick talking about Southern food.

Things I've tried and won't try again...

Pickled pigs feet.
Pigs knuckles. (Early beginnings of Super Glue)
Fried pig's brains. (My Dad's Dad fried them in the pan with his eggs in the morning)
Mountain Oysters (I can take them or leave them, no big deal)

I love scrapple, pudden and hominy, cracklings.

My all time favorite southern meal is Cornbread with Pinto Beans and Ham Hock :p

Until you got to the soup beans and corn bread (that's what we call 'em down here, usually festooned with
chopped onion as well), I turned my nose up at all those other "treats".
Nasty stuff for sure, along with pickled eggs and that other crap sold in big jars at the counter in convenience
stores.

Yeah, I'm getting to where I finally like that stuff. Pretty much had to, since all the "fun" sauces are now
off limits to me (anything spicy or hot is a no-no - too many "modifications" to my innards, ya know).

Anyone ever try balute? An Asian delicacy that I just LOVE! It’s a duck egg that is partly developed. Usually something like a couple of weeks old so the embryo is partly formed to a baby duck. You know like a fetus that is partly formed. You drink the embryonic fluid and then with a little salt and pepper you eat the embryo. You can get it in most Asian countries or where there’s a large population of them. I learned to eat it in the Philippines and still eat it regularly because my wife is VN and loves it too. Hope I explained it accurately it’s a must try.

I thought you posted that before. Deja Vu ?
Alzheimer's.....from eating balute.

pan seared asparagus with a little extra virgin olive oil, splash of white wine . and dill pickles , just discovered this one the woody flavor and bitterness of the asparagus and the sour, tartness of the pickle go great together.

^^^ That sounds disgusting .....I'm gonna try it,lol.

Fresh scali bread with a heaping of butter and sugar sprinkled on it.

Thanks, that got the rotten duck egg out of my mind!
