2019 NFL season

Welp! Antonio Brown has been released by New England.....

He's done. I have doubts another team would sign him even if he was willing to play for the league minimum at this point...

I think he’s like 29 or so. I think at this point he’s toast. He’ll go thru a long image rehab and try to stay in shape but I too think his days are over..... gee what a shame.

I'm biased of course, as a Wisconsinite, die hard Packer fan. Pack has a history before the birth of the NFL, won the first two Superbowls, and the trophy is named after Lombardi. Then came 20 years of watching them suck while the stadium always sold out! Then came Wolf, Holmgren, and by Wolf's skill and/or luck, Brett. He was a guy who was old school and loved playing, no glitz, a regular scrappy guy. We got lucky again with Rodgers, a talent few knew about and passed by pissing him off. The team is the only one publicly owned and I have a couple shares. I got peeved when they let McCarthy go as shitty as they did and wrote to the Packer's president. He sent me a Packers Christmas card with a handwritten note addressing my complaints. I have assumed the team would be in no-where's-ville for a few years considering the radical coaching changes and a young head coach - go figure they're 2 and 0. They have had some good luck on their side...I'm not holding my breath they'll make the playoffs; but ahh...of course I hope they do.

Sonny Says........
The Packers are a top contender, nobody can beat them at this point,
The D is very good , and the 0 is good.
The Saints are without Drew Bree's, the Chiefs lost and Patrick Mahomes is all banged up, The Steelers are without Rothlesberger,
the Bears are awful,
the Vikings are just ok.
Top two teams in the NFL are the Packers and Patriots

see you at the end of the season.....in the playoffs !

Gee I wonder if Sonny is a packer fan..... My guess is he is. Like so many other misguided individuals he only sees one team as the NFC salvation. He’s conveniently forgetting about the 49ers, Seahawks, Rams and is already discounting the Saints. My my how must it be to see thru rose colored glasses..... LOL We have a lot of season left to play football. Let’s see how things play out (I’m a Viking fan - but don’t expect much from them)

I'm the sorry sort who isn't a glass half full guy all the time (well I drink beer and get worried when it's half empty). As a Packer fan I'm amazed they have done as well as they have considering a major coaching overhaul. My thought was they'd have at least a year or so tumbling around to get tuned in plus considering the young players. Yesterday against the Cowboys they were all over them and then...2nd half looked like a different team. We got a great break thanks to their kicker having a bad day. I was expecting them to make that 33 yard field goal then do the onside kick. Well it's all about the W/L and hope they keep it up!

Raiders 3-2 officially a winning record "so far"
(small improvements, I'll take it)
thought they were gonna' fold, give up the 17 pt lead
like they did in the 3rd qtr 21 pts to Chicago
3 fumbles & stupid penalties like normal
& lose like normal, fortunately scored another TD,
stopped da' Bears from scoring again
they actually held on & 'actually won', yippee :bananadance:

all I can say is I'm glad I'm not a
Dolphins, Redskins, Jets, Bengals fan...

or the 1-4 Broncos :poke:
or the 1-4 Steelers :D

only 2 still undefeated 4-0 NE (figured as much)
& 3-0 SF 'who'd have thought ?'
4-1 now, KC lost to the Colts (didn't see that one coming)
Colts ran it, like 45-50 times up the gut, KC couldn't stop them

we'll see tonight MNF if the 49er's stay that way
against 2-2 Cleveland

Packers are good as is the Patriots but the season is young. Chances are Mahomes will be back and healthy and we know Brees is headed back. I have a feeling the NFC will be won by New Orleans and the AFC will be a dogfight with several teams in the mix. I will not throw my name in the hat for New England just yet.

I live in GRB

If I remember correctly , didn’t the Eagles beat us at home ?

If I remember correctly , didn’t our defense give up just under 600 yards yesterday ?

If I remember correctly , didn’t our defense have two , yes two gift wrapped interceptions yesterday that changed the complexion of the whole game drastically

One went right thru Coopers hands , the same Cooper who would have had close to 300 yards receiving if not for that mistake

The other , King raped the wide receiver before the pick

FACTS

Carry on

What's irking me are the officials like a couple non-calls Eagles/Green Bay (I figured the ref's were Eagles fans) and some of the calls they're making like roughing passer last Sunday against the Cowboys. Replay showed barely a whisp of a hand on the side of the helmet. I don't envy the officials with the ever changing rules; but some smart players are learning how to draw a penalty via body language such as offensive pass interference; the defender pretends to have gotten a hard push off after being barely touched. It's a brutal game...more football mom's don't want their boys playing. Hell I'm wrecked up enough from years of bowling and golfing! lol

The schedule makers gifted the patriots a trip to the super bowl. I think they would have the patriots playing against junior college jv teams and really good high school teams, if they could.
Other than the Bills, pat opponents are 1-17.

I can imagine the headlines for Tom Brady reading something like this...Dateline 2053: "Tom Brady, age 76, has announced his retirement from the New England Patriots. This comes as shocking news as his contract assures him another 970 million dollars through age 80..."

Update on Tom Brady's retirement date line 2053: "New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, age 101, was evidently saddened by quarterback Brady's announcement that he is retiring at age 76. While Belichick has remained the head coach, despite his inability to speak since 2044, his disappointment was indicated by his raising his left eyebrow upon hearing this news. Amazingly, Belichick's Patriots have won the last 17 Super Bowls!"
Ok guys sorry, just my odd sense of humor...I'm finding a big laugh...I think.

i would be happy if the lions made it to the play offs. they are looking good so far

.....and suddenly Mahomes and the Chief's do not look so invincible.

way to go Texan's :poke: (sorry KC fans)

that game looked like it was gonna' be a KC blow out
they seemed to have the Texan's #
a few penalties was all that kept them from running away with it

I think State Farm 'Mahommy' was injured,
he was certainly hobbling a little
#1 after last game, from being stepped on by his own guy
(in the loss to the Colts, that ran the **** out it up the middle)
#2 got the same ankle rolled up on today too
(in another loss to the Texans)

A dose of reality from a life long chiefs fan. You cant win games against a good team without a great defense. Our defense sucks.

the offense looks great, typical Andy Reid deal
(albeit; he never won the 'big game' as a head coach,
he usually loses, in the conference championship game,
once in the SB, with the Eagles, he's been on SB winning teams
assistant coach or position coach (GB), just never as the Head Coach
)
the defense, the run stop is questionable

I think they're still the team to beat in the AFC
if they can beat the Patriots, win a playoff game against them...
