As in I was under the impression that the USA had the best pilots, by far, and the best aircraft when it came down to it. I know that there have been faster, more maneuverable jets than ours, but technology and survivability I thought we had a lock on. (no pun intended)
I guess the "vectoring capability" of the engines on that Russian jet and the skills to pull that maneuver are shocking in post USSR Russia, a country with a teeny tiny GDP.
Since this is in General Discussion, I'll leave it at this.

I do, and always have. That's why I'm shocked by this. Then again, it may well be my lack of knowledge of the topic, hence:

I don't think is a matter of faith, USA have great planes and pilots, but to acknowledge the fact that other countries have great planes and pilots too, the capabilities and performance of the Sukhoi jet fighters are legendary, all of us here have seen the Pougachev's cobra, no not trying to raise an argument about anything, so me too an leavening this here, great video thanks.
