1st time results of HEMI at track

Assuming that was built for the three kits sitting on it, I would expect something similar. I’m guessing 7100 was where it nosed over. Probably still making power but on the decline. I’ve had several 4.500 stroke hemis pulling strong to 7500. Most street guys won’t want those kind of camshafts

Still just a little ole street car. The kits are excellent if I am late for work....

Piston speed with a 4.75" stroke along with the weight of a big bore Hemi piston at 8000+ is not for the faint of heart. High dollar pieces with scheduled replacement would be my thought. Or just bring a broom, floor dry and a dust pan. I hope it stays together and it's a rocket.

well mike , nice #'s for that dry air there . greatest of luck getting it down into those low 8's . but famoso folks preps the track well . of course infinity race park would have better air and make better power . raced them both . raced at sac's dragstrip , weather was so hot it was boiling the fuel in our carbs .
Just for the record....I have never forecasted LOW 8s.
I think with good air, perfect launch, everything being RIGHT I would HOPE of anything starting with an 8.
But...after that....I will set the ET Genie Restrictor plates, set the shift points, etc. for the car to run 9.60's which is the INDEX for C/Gas for the track that I run at (Famoso). The car will never go 8.60's so B/Gas is out of my reach.

Low 1.20 60 foot. Just for cmparison.
This time slip is with 1200hp in July. 1.26 foot on the back tires. Hot as balls and I was very lean. Car has been 8.62@158mph

reading this thread, anything with a Hemi is cool......if your motor makes an honest 1100fwhp on track as dyno'd before and I'm guessing your @line weight of 3300lbs?, its poss with gear/tyre combo you have to go>

We have 3 guys here running 572 hemi's in our UKNSS brkt class, 1 in a '68 Charger going 9.3's now another with a Petty tribute Bird going 9.6's, and 1 in a challenger also 9.6's, all relatively mild motors though only making around 870fwhp currently.
 
Mike, whatever you run you have my respect for still being involved in the sport, actually owning and driving the car, not just coaching younger guys. Don't know what motivates the naysayers, just a negative by-product of the internet I guess.
 
I held off on finally making a critical decision until I could get Mike's input, and that doesn't happen very often on my part, so I certainly respect his experience and opinions.

But now next outing will be 3rd week in February. Track is closed for winter until then.
That outing is a Friday, Saturday, Sunday 3 Day Test & Tune weekend in advance of the big March Meet Race which is the first part of March.
I will be able to get all the runs I want during that 3 days to get things dialed in.
