Anyone using a factory oil pickup and pan with a 4.250 stroke crank in a 440?

Should work as long as you use Chevy rods and rod journals. Some of the rods fit better than others so it is something that you have to check. Generally speaking you want to use higher quality rods. You'll want to have a windage tray if you're going to use a stock oil pan. A stock pan isn't really deep enough to work with a big stroker. The crank will whip the oil into a froth if you don't have a windage tray.

I have a 6 pack/Hemi pan with a stock pickup in a 505... Lots of room... The 2.200 rod journals leave you nearly as much room as the 3.75 stroke with the stock rods..

the hemi/six pack pan was exactly what I had in mind. Did you use the 1/2” pickup as well?

Andy what aftermarket pan and pickup would you recommend this will be in my 69’ bee

Beekeeper, give some thought to the Milodon road race pan. High capacity good ground clearance. external oil line though.

I use the Milodon road race pan, could not use the external pick up, headers where in the way. If you check the TTI website it says that it should work, but it did not. Ground clearance is excellent. Same as a standard pan.

Reproduction Hemi oil pan on my '69 Coronet Convertible with a 505" (4.350" bore x 4.250" stroke) engine. This engine is fairly mild, maybe 550 HP, and have rev-limiter set at 6,000 RPM. The yellow '71 Charger has the Milodon Low Profile 30930 pan. It is a stroked "B" 400 block, 499", and revs 7,000 RPM, maybe around 700+ HP.
I noticed Milodon had a "Pro-Touring" oil pan also. I don't recall that pan being avaliable when I did my cars?
All my engines have the 1/2" pickup modification, but it is not an easy modification.
Originally I did the common thing of just drill it out and tap it, but now I have the correct tapered reamers to do the modification.

The reproduction Hemi/six pack pan might work for you or use the Milodon road race/pro touring pan. You might need to trim the K frame for a larger pan. The Milodon pan is not an easy thing to install in the car. Best to do it with the engine on a stand since you might have to do some tweaking to get things to fit properly.

Sounds great I have the whole drivetrain and suspension removed as a unit at present. Just want to get some details worked out before I plan for a 505 build. Another question has anyone used factory valve covers on the trick flow 240 heads?

I haven't used stock valve covers on the Trick Flow heads, but they worked on 440 Source stealth heads.
I did notice on the trick flow heads that the stock cork valve cover gasket was hitting the outer edge of the rocker shaft stand and needed to be trimed a bit, but the thick blue Moroso valve cover gaskets fit without modification. I think if you have problems with the stock covers, it may be around the end rocker shaft stands, and maybe not the rocker arms themself?

Very interesting, the road race pan fits fine with my TTI 2" & the single external line (w/side pump inlet, not rear) on my '66 Satellite.
