This will be an easy question for many of you but what is the internal color of a Superbird nose cone? I'm assuming it is the body color? Am I correct? If anyone has good photos of a nose off the car, I'd would like to see the internal pieces as I'm about to assemble one for the first time. Thanks so much!

Just a guess here but to cut costs as they always seemed to do, I'd suspect there to be a type of primer only with some random body color overspray near the headlight door openings and underneath.

YES...!!!
And the primer was spotty, too.
Think this: You have a 1/2 hour job, done perfect, and the boss says do it in 10 minutes!

Just watched grave yard cars and they disassembled an original painted orange Daytona, and apparently, according to Mark, the would assemble the whole nose cone lights and everything, then mask of the bulbs and things to be not painted and would spray the nose cone separately. There would be over spray on the headlight buckets and adjusters etc.
I think the rear of the nose cone was primered with no concern as to over spray.

So the consensus is in and since my nose is powder coated black, I'll not worry about painting the inside. Thanks for all the replies and information!

So now you can strip it all down and do it right!
