440 engine junk, burned by a member here.

looking at the pictures a bit closer, it looks like the cross-hatch from the honing has almost no angle, and the crank journals were not polished. I would be suspect of the other work on the engine too.

I hate these types of threads. It sure sucks to be ripped off but it also sucks leaving members hanging as to who did this and took 6K. All that does is leave EVERY member suspect...

i dont know about you,but these threads are really pissing me off lately.
from people screaming warnings that turn out to be their own fault,
to people getting their money back and not giving a Damm about keeping the rest of the community safe, its getting to be beyond bs.

yes,im talking about the guy who just got robbed on the convertible YET gave the car back to seller and didnt do Squat about it,Because he got his money back.
thats all he cared about,i know this because i talked to him personally.
thats Low....
we all know someone Else is gonna get robbed so hey Thanks for being a good member.

then theres that other parts guy,who left the site after being accused falsely by partsmonsta.
but of course, partsmonsta is still here....

im also wondering wth is going on with either Joey or the mods

because these scumbags are still members here,
im talking about the ones that have been Proven to be thieves and scammers.
how many Members Does it take,to make a real complaint,to actually get rid of a scammer?
is there an official count of Multiple victims first?..
i mean really...what in the hells....is going on lately??

and, what happened to the multiple suggestions about having a STICKY listing the known scammers and ripoff artists?

First of all, thanks for bringing this up again.

Second - Does that part in bold suggest that Joey and the Mods are scum? I hope not.

It is a very difficult decision for us to make to decide who is at blame in most of these situations. I believe Joey has already addressed this subject in the past, and has made a reasonable explanation as to why we don't just jump on members and boot them immediately. Proving a member is a scammer is not an easy thing to do....especially when the Kangaroo Court is in full session.

Facts need to be presented without prejudice and without malice, if anyone is to decide upon the fate of any member.

I might also draw everyone's attention to the statement in the "Rules of the Forum" which mention that the Admins and Staff can by no means be held accountable or responsible for transactions between members. Having said that, on occasions, we do end up getting involved.....

Disclaimer:
FBBO has no control over sellers or buyers, these are free, self service unpaid ads, so be cautious and careful with your on-line transactions. Know who you are dealing with before you send any money. These rules are also subject to change at any time without notice.

FBBO Moderators, Owners and Administrators are not responsible and can take no action regarding the sale of items on this website.

From what I understand about the partsmonsta deal, Joey spent a lot of time trying to sort that one out. I don't know the actual outcome, but I suspect there is still some bad feeling out there.

As you all know, I was heavily involved with getting to the bottom (excuse the pun) of the "moparlady" BS that carried on for sometime here. That sort of fairy tale will not be tolerated here either....it's bad enough trying to round up the guys with multiple aliases who try and derail threads and upset members.

Something else I have mentioned several times before....the Feedback system is in place to give an honest appraisal of transactions here. As long as that is used like it should, there is a fighting chance to get some actual idea of who we are dealing with here, and the sister sites. I know it doesn't prevent rogues or thieves, but it helps. Also, asking questions of others, and of yourself before leaping in and sending money goes a long way. I too am guilty also of buying without consultation here, and fortunately have only been bitten once. That guy turned out to be a real scumbag, and had flipped virtually overnight from being half-decent, to being a real ball-bag of a trader.

Maybe a thread dedicated to rogue traders is a reasonable request, but by doing so, you risk alienating a good person who might have a genuine reason for not being able to keep his/her end of the bargain. In that case, we would have made a criminal out of an honest but ill-prepared person.

I hope that goes some way to answering your request guys.... @Ironbuilt @BeatersRus

Don't worry, I have banned a few here for being real scum in my 5+ years in office. Not afraid to do it again if required.

thatd solve the chances of someone getting smeared.

we give our opinions only to find out a totally diff story ..

I know about that.....I have missed out on getting at least 8-10 feedbacks here. Some people just don't give a crap it seems, which is a shame for everyone. Let's just hope that those who fail to record feedbacks are the ones who find themselves in difficulty. :D

I had a look at the percentages here last night, and it really is fairly good as far as positivity goes. It could be worse, at least there are no fees to trade here. :)

My problem is that I forget that we have a feedback system. It's not that I don't care, it's because my mind is getting old and forgetful. :) If I'm reminded or see it, I will leave feedback.

I just looked and I have left more feedback than I have received. But I have never had a bad deal on this site. If something looks fishy or someone refuses to take better pics or has no pics I usually don't even consider it.

Hi guys.
Sorry for just getting back to this thread now. I just worked a triple (72 hours) at My station and was a little exhausted. I have called and emailed the original builder with no response.
Again, I should have been more thorough with checking him out as a reputable builder but I was younger, and dumber. The original builders name is mike stahl. If he reads this and wants to stand up and deal with the pile of broken motor I have I encourage it.
I am now looking at about 9400.00 for a reputable builder to start from scratch. Basically everything under the intake is not useable. The cam might be grindable but will obviously have a reduced profile. The original block was already bored 40 over and my new builder won’t push a original block past 30 over. This has been an expensive learning lesson to just have a professional do it from the beginning.

Thanks now maybe he can come here and let us know what he has to say. Also was this his user name here? That will help other members also..

Unfortunetely the majority of members won't leave feedback. I would be willing to bet it only happens 25% - 30% of the time. I definitely think it does help people get a handle on a buyer or seller. Just needs to be left after every transaction.......
