So I have a brand new and fully-rebuilt 1985 727 transmission with a brand new converter I have all hooked up to my sb 360. I have been as meticulous as possible with every nut and bolt and triple-checked everything I put on this thing and fired it up this morning (was hoping to take it for a spin on Christmas). What ended up happening was I pulled out through my driveway which was a slope and seemed to glide out okay when I was feathering the gas, but right when I hit level ground it literally was limping inches with the gas pushed way too far down than it should need to. I'm talking inches, the TV cable is adjusted and hooked up properly, I actually made it tighter second-guessing myself. Not sure if it was even moving forward at all after a while, I only got about 20 yards and I think she just stopped moving, then I put it in reverse and I was getting nothing from her. I put 5 quarts in and before I had even pulled out I checked the fluid in park and the fluid sat right on full while running. Some people are saying on forums you need to check the fluid in neutral? Maybe I don't have enough fluid in the trans to build pressure for the pump? No smoke had happened during the process, any help and feedback is greatly appreciated, Merry Christmas!
