The car as it was shortly before tearing it apart. Used it for 10 years as a daily driver and if it wasn't raining when I left for work but looked like it might, I drove it anyways and yes, it's dirty in the pic because it had been raining that day. Location is at a friend's house.

Little bit of a back story.....my father in law passed on in July of 97, 11 months before my dad passed on. After we got through the funeral of my father in law, I decided to tear it apart since the front end was getting pretty loose so got busy on it but it wasn't long after that my dad ended up in the hospital. Wasn't long after that he was gone. Within the next several years, lost 8 more relatives and seemed like every time I got to working on the car is when someone else decided to leave this world....

whats the plan? sb or bb

Built a 440 many years ago and it's still on the stand. Built it for a truck but the truck is long gone. It has 10.3 compression, moly rings on stock cast pistons. It's still standard bore, with closed chamber heads with a old school Hemi grind cam.

Thank you for the story and sorry about your past losses......

Great to see you getting back to that and creating a build thread here.....That way we can bug you constantly to get to work on it and post more pictures!

Love post cars. The less frills the better. Best of luck with your project !

sleeper with hubcaps ?
Dunno yet. Sold the cop car wheels that were on it a long time ago because the thought back then was building the car mainly for drag racing. Still have an old set of Centerlines drag wheels from the 80's that was thinking of using. Could always paint them black so they don't stand out so much :D

Thanks! Still miss my dad but hey, we're all gonna go sometime. And I thought about the constant bugging lol and since a lot of the pics I had for it got lost on Photodumb, I'll be taking several over again. Still working on the diet and posted a little of that on the 'What did you do to your Mopar today' thread yesterday.

The only frills the car had before was factory AC and an automatic trans. Hopefully a stick will go back in it and a Vintage Air setup. The radio delete plate is still in it and will probably stay :D

I'm a wheel and tire whore. Black wheels, chrome wheels, mags, slots.Button caps and body color. 'Bout the only thing I pass on is full wheel covers. First thing I get when buying and starting a project is wheels and tires.

I get A/C at our age and location. Don't need no stinkin' radio, the engine sound is tunes enough !

Always like the post cars. I would go back to the steel wheels-little cap, what I’m doing with mine after much thought. First thing we did back in the day was put the good wheels-tires on but times change! Good luck!

factory AC in a 2D post car?

That's interesting.

Great project, I have looked at several 2 door post cars in the past and still have my eye on a 67 Belvedere post car, original 383 HP 4-speed that's still not for sale.

Texas car lol. A buddy at work told me about the car sitting just outside of his neighborhood so went to look at it at noon time. Only had a 30 minute lunch so had to push it to be able to not be getting back too late. Saw the factory AC and thought, sure, bet that works. It was down on freon but still had a bit of pressure so what the hey, vacuumed it and charged it up and by golly it worked and worked good! Kinda sorry I pulled it out and sold it. Oh well. The horn rim and shifter shows how damp it is here. The car has been in the shop too except for when it was in the trailer. The trailer probably is a better place as it stays closed up.

Thanks! The body is pretty solid with one area of the floor needing replacement and have a nice replacement that came out of a 4 door. The rest of the body is solid and pretty straight but, there's not much in the way of a budget to make it really nice since my divorce happened. Might be going back to work driving a truck and hope that pans out.
