I have a problem when run at night with the headlights. One of those sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. I turn on the headlight, the turn signal indicators glow bright red and the dash light go completely out when I hit the brights the turn signal indicators go out and the bright light indicator is the only thing on. I first thought the switch was hunting ground so I grounded the switch and dash. Seemed to work find and i don't drive at night much but problem resurfaced. Does anyone have any ideas on fixing this problem. Is there any ground wires I may have missed. The engine has a ground strap on the right side body to engine. I did have a problem with the horn not blowing well so I ground the paint around the mounting bolts and it works fine.

check all bulk head connections Also check rear lighting connector that is in the driver side kick panel make sure it has a good connection. Turn signal switch as well as the dimmer switch.

The headlight harness has grounds on the core support with hex head screws on each side at the top. Make sure both are clean and snug.

Should be a ground wire from the column to the dash, make sure it is there and not removed. It’s right under the plastic cover that screws on the dash at the column opening.

Make sure the headlight dimmer switch is grounded to the floor. Problem with wet and rusted old cars

Make sure the park lights are firmly attached to the bumper, that is their ground.

I had a 1973 Challenger that when I put on the turn signal, the compartment light would blink also. Would press the horn to only get a faint Honk. Drove me crazy until I finally found it by mistake. While having my hand under the dash, I moved some wires and everything started working for a few minutes and once my hand was removed things started messing up again. Final solution, It was the two wires attached to the Amp gauge, they were slightly corroded. Removed, cleaned and put back. Solved everything. Grounds can be your worse night mare.

Sounds like the dash / column isn't getting a good ground. There should be a ground jumper from the dash to the steering column and one from the column to the floor pan or column support brackets. An extra never hurts on these cars.
