Li’l Red Followed Me Home

Congrats on the LRE!

Cool find!! Had several Dodge trucks of that generation but never a Lil Red. And what are you towing it with? lol
You can’t shame me if I tell you. We have a Tahoe but still waiting for Ram to relaunch a Ramcharger. I would have one in an instant.

One can find these Express trucks in the most unusual places. Last summer I was walking around a Toyota Dealership showroom in Juneau, Alaska. In the far corner of the building was a little display of classic vehicles, including a Lil Red Express owned by one of the partners of the dealership.

I just happened to be there when the owner walked by and popped the hood for me. Can you believe my amazement to find he had installed a crate 426 Hemi in the pick-up? Had to relocate the master cylinder, of course.

I was considering a 5.7 Hemi swap for the 79 LRT,but I also have an 02 360 magnum.

Doesn’t look like she needs much tlc. Looks to be in very nice shape ...

Have you considered a new Power Wagon? Those things are freaking cool.

This goes to show there’s stuff hidden everywhere and sometimes you don’t have to look too far. Truck was 2 miles from my house.

So that means it was about 17 miles from my house! :D

Great Score! 360 automatic?

I use to service them when they were delivered to a dealership in Maryland. Cool trucks

Here’s what the carb looked like. Owner said it was last rebuilt in the mid-90s. No clue what fuel lately still gums up like the old stuff but th

Yep, all these are 360/727. Thx!

Had another follow me home that needs some TLC to put back on the road.

This truck lived in the York area all its life and then the last 30 years in my home town. We think the second owner was from the same town too. Truck was parked back in 2012, 30 miles on it since then anyway. I’ll be the 4th owner.

SCORE! It looks like a dandy!

Huge score. been looking for a nice 78 for every bit of twenty years. Even in South Florida, everything I have found were sitting in Lake Michigan for ten years.
