They will keep making them as long as the movies make MONEY.

I think most knew the movie cars were posers/fakes
especially the stunt cars, with Chevy engines

that engine they showed a few times & talked about :blah::blah::blah:
was a 426 based style Hemi -distributer In the front-
not just a timing cover/front drive distributor on a 354-392 Hemi/Milodon

just more poser **** :jackoff: from the F&F series :hifu:

& yes I've seen them all too

misery loves company I guess

I just can't get over the fake ****, shitty story lines
some of the cars are way over the top/showboats
saki sippen' rice rockets etc.

some worship that series
I'm not one of them people
wouldn't watch even if not for cars being the stars

lots of him saying "I think & I suppose", ill-informed crap
when he's supposed to be an owner,
or by a "supposed expert" on the movie cars
that built & owned several of these cars

sorry someone had to call it out

I've only seen the first one the week it came out. Seen snippets of others and they seem like a cartoon (no pun intended) brought to life.

Yeah the charger being "fake" is common knowledge. Also vin diesel did say that the MAIN Fast and Furious franchise will end at movie 11 (?), but side stories like Hobbs and Shaw will continue.

I love the 'Fast movies up until number four; everything else past that is beyond silly. Also for those of you who hate this series, keep in mind that few other, if no other series highlights muscle cars as being the king of the automotive performance world. If any of you have seen the movies then you know that the car to beat, the car that dominates in these movies is always an American muscle car, its usually a Mopar, its usually a 2nd Gen Charger. Amen to THAT...

This is why I like movies like Two Lane Blacktop and Hot Rod. Lot's of reality.

I like how a 10 sec race took 30 sec. How a driver could actually look to a laptop. Let alone see anything relevant while drag racing. I like Dom saying. "Not double clutching like you should?" What is this? 1940s? If you have to double clutch to get R's up to better your time? The race is long over. I like they actually pushed the button twice to a double nitrous shot? On the steering wheel?

Besides it being completely ridiculous? I like the movies.

While looking up the cars in Fast and Furious 9, I see Dom has a new Charger. The articles list it as a 1968 Charger 500. I know you guys know there was no 500 that year and the car shown is a '70. I think the series was really about Paul Walker then the bodybuilders made the show about themselves. I'm still upset about Paul Walker's death 8 years later.

I wonder what's next for the franchise, and I mean they fight against a tank, a plane, i think it was the Antonov 225, a submarine... besides why hollywood love to destroy and mutilate 2nd gen chargers, i mean chevys or ford no problem.

I had a chance to take a close look at that hemi orange 70 Challenger and the 69 Yenko from #2 (I think it was #2); both were at Year One in the back of their warehouse and I was getting a private tour, the manager told me that they (Y1) had provided a lot of parts for the cars as part of a deal and that Y1 was supposed to get the 2 beauty shot cars after the filming as payment. The Challenger was a 318 AT car with a gunslinger shifter in it to simulate a PG. Their intent was to make both cars into what they were depicted as in the movie which I think they did.

Have you noticed that Mopars are the bad guys (or owtlaws) of the movie? And ultimately gets wrecked? (And when we say wrecked? Obliterated!)

Bullitt
Vanishing Point
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry
Christine
Blues Brothers
Fast & Furious.
Just to name a few. But if it's a Ford?

Well if you believe in conspiracies it has been said that especially Ford was very active in how their cars were portrayed. That said I do not think Mopar suffered from being portrayed as the "bad boy"

Great Point!
(I am a FORD fanatic)
But remember this...EVERYONE...!

"In movies and books, tales...it is the BAD GUY who you remember the most...the BAD GUY is the one that gets imprinted in our memories..."

So, If ..If I were a car in a Movie or...a Bad Guy in a Movie...I'd want to be a MOPAR.

Some Bad Guys we LOVE:

1. Jack Palance as "Wilson" in Shane, 1953..
(As Shane says to little Joey..."that Wilson alright, he's fast...he's fast on the draw")

2. Sir Anthony Hopkins as "Hannibal Lectre" in Silence of the Lambs

3. Anthony Perkins as "Norman Bates" Psycho, 1960.

4. Kathy Bates as demented Nurse Annie Wilkes in "Misery"

5. The Sinister 1968 "Black Charger" in Bullitt

So: the BAD GUY Always "Wins" in the end...no matter how you look at it! image.gif
