You should save this, it was THE epiphany and turning point of my battles to have a good running 6 bbl.

Oh yeah 6 pack/barrel is the HEAT.. I have 2 of them that are EFI and 1 carb one (sitting on a stand as garage art)...

Is that the F&B setup on the factory aluminum 6bbl intake?
It looks like it...
How many CFM?
What heads?
Any intake mods or porting?
What EFI control system are you using?
If I ever go EFI, F&B 3x2 DPI is the best one out there, but I would set it up on the Weiand P3690982 6bbl intake, like this:

The other option (other than the Edelbrock/Chrysler intake, like yours, or the Weiand) is the Indy ModMan.

I will try and answer your questions,

1. yes both of them are F&B systems on stock Mopar 6 pack intakes that were modified to take injectors and fuel rails.

2. I have no idea how much they flow, I would think F&B could tell you that.

3. On the BB, they are stock 906 heads (I believe), on the SB they are Edelbrock RPM

4. no porting was done on either engine or intake

5. Controllers

A. on the SB I am ruining a FAST EZ 1.0 system; I bought it when EFI was just starting to become a reality for older cars and had it for probably 8 years before I installed it. It only controls the fuel, so timing is same as always.

B. on the BB I am using a Holley HP system with hall effect distributor, so it controls spark and fuel.

I actually had the FAST system way before the Holley system but installed the Holley system a year before I did the FAST. That said, I can say that I probably prefer the Holley system as it gives you so much control over everything and you do it all on a laptop. Yes there is a learning curve, but it is not near as bad as some would have you believe, plus everyday there is more and more information being posted online and youtube.

I did think about doing a system using the Indy Mod-man intake, I liked the concept but in the end I just purchased what F&B had. I did have at one time a Rat Roster 6 pack Weiand intake but gave it to a buddy of mine, interesting set up and I am sure it makes power but more for a drag car than street car IMO.

All great answers and thanks for being so thorough and responsive.
Just for those who may be interested, or do web searches, the Rat Roaster and the Weiand P3690982 are 2 entirely different intake manifolds, but I am going to assume (unless you clarify) that you had the Weiand.
The range of CFM on the F&B 3x2 EFI setups that I've seen have been from 1,900 to 2,400 CFM, but it can vary depending on what is appropriate, so that's why I was asking.
Also, I'm a huge fan of the F&B, and one of the most ardent proponents of a 3x2 intake, having a V-Code Roadrunner and a Tripower GTO, and also insisting that my future stroker motor (which due to going with an aftermarket aluminum block has grown to 540 cu in) I'm still insisting (with no debate) that it too will be fed by a 3x2 intake, starting with my 3 Promax modded Holley carbs.
Thanks

You are welcome, I did in fact have a Weiand and not the Rat Roaster as you describe; I always called it that but you are correct.

I had a normal Mopar 6 pack carb system on my Challenger and replaced it with the EFI system bc I do not drive the car very much (or at all) but when I want to the carbs were always a pain. The EFI system is so much more suited to the car and me now than previously; when I want to start it up, it fires up, goes to idle, etc. with no removing the air cleaner to prime it, turning it over for extended periods trying to get fuel into the carb, etc. I am not all bashing the carbs, if used they work exceptionally well but with the fuel quality being what it is and the fact that I don't drive the car (or any of them for that matter) near enough, the EFI was/is a much better solution. On top of that, the 440 not only runs better but have significantly more power than previously which I attribute to poor timing and perhaps some less than optimal parts. I am running that Holley hall effect distributor and a MSD 6 ignition and so far it has worked exceptionally well.

Yeah, that's something about EFI that I know I am leaving power on the table with the ignition relative to timing, even if I get the carburetors spot on.
I have looked into various killer ignition systems that are compatible with carburetors, but allow for maximum tuning and flexibility.
Being as I've invested over $1K in the Promax parts and labor, and I don't have the coin for the EFI, I'm going to start with what I have.

Dual quads on a low rise intake.....not a fan at all but like a high rise better but so much for hood clearance. When going with a TR intake, I don't mind it sticking through the hood!!! An old 'Why-and' is my go to combo.

Uh, was this in the Classified section from the get go?

Yeah, I got carried away when I saw the F&B 3x2 EFI system, and joined in the celebration of the 6 bbl, because they're great!
:D
