So I have an aftermarket disk brake kit, I’m looking to lower the car 1-2 inches.

I’ve seen a few threads about 295s rub, 305s fit. Pick your tire then your rim...

Well I’m pretty open to 15-18 sized rim

I’m not looking to mini tub but I have removed the chrome trim and will roll the inner edge.

I have a Dana 60 4 speed car and am willing to hammer the inside a little bit I really don’t want to cut the car if I don’t have to. I already have 15” rims but am looking to go to draglites or dragstars

the rear at stock height seems to fit 15” with a 5.5 Bs and around a 295 wide tire wall seems to vary a lot and the desire to lower the car ideally 2”s well I have no idea how that will play?

I don’t want to destroy the tires every time I hit a bump

Rear leaf relocation kit. Gives you a few inches without having to tuck the quarters as well as not having to mini tub. The backspacing on the rim would give you more tire inside.

the reason I’m not wanting to cut into the car is it’s a 440 4 speed 66, it’s why I opted for a Passon 5 speed over a t56 conversion.

it’s not from a lack of being able to mini tub it. Absolutely a mini tub and relocation kit makes most sense I’m just looking for the best I can get while really not cutting into the car.

I'm one of those who think rolling the inside edge of the quarter ruins the quarter.
There aren't many good quarters out there for these cars, shame to mess one up.
(my opinion)

Are you sure it's really a 440, 4 speed 66? A 440 really wasn't a standard offering in a 66 much less a standard.
I've never seen a real one and kinda think they are fictictous.

I did this car way back in the late 90's with Steve Strope.
Car was lowered as low as possible,no springs moved or drop spindles.
Tire/Wheels were 17x7 front with 215/45/17 .
Rear were 17x8 with 255/45/17.To me the combo looks small now.

I’m going off of what I was told, I’m fairly new to mopar and was told it’s a factory big block 4 speed. I’m gonna tinker on it her shortly and I’ve definitely been meaning to decode the vin.

That stance looks great, I was just hoping for a wider rear but I’m used to getting into the 315/345 sizes and I know that isn’t happening

Yeah the 255 were as wide as we wanted to go without rubbing or moving the springs in.
At the time, that was the new stuff for Pro Touring.Hard to believe it was over 20 years ago.

I have 295/50/15's mounted on 10" wide wheels with 5"B.S. and they rub a bit on the inner wheel house when going into a steep driveway at an angle.
440's weren't available in '66. But still a 4 spd big block car is pretty cool. Wish mine was a 4spd.

According to Allpar, the 440 was available for the Coronet but not the Charger but a 4 speed was available in the Charger for the "bigger" engines......

Do you still have that car? Remember when I saw it in the magazine...changed my life. LOL

Right the 440 was offered in a Charger in '67. 600 ish were built.
Actually in '66 the 440 was only available in the C bodies.

The dealer brochure for '66 shows the four speed available on the 361, 383 and 426 Hemi (but not the 318). I'd be surprised if the Dana was put on a 383 or 361 car though.

vin has it as a 383, I was told it’s the original rear, I suppose no one would really know.

would a 5.5 bs help? I’d be more than happy with a 295 tire

Gpuller, Sold it way back around 2003. Changed hands several times and last I know it was in Atlanta Georgia.
It was at a show at Year One maybe 2007 or 08.The new owner lifted it and installed Torque Thrusts for more of a 70's look.
Still looked good.
