Ok, I did my due diligence and looked through the 218 posts that list heater control valve. 1967 Coronet w factory air. Leaking heater control valve both down the outside of firewall and inside. Thankfully it was only distilled water and a radiator pressure test that discovered it. I have looked in my 1967 Dodge Dart/Coronet/Charger SM and no reference to heater control valve or any combination of those words. My front bench is out right now and I would like to know of some clear instructions to remove it so I can have it repaired. The hood and hinges are also off. Can the valve be removed from outside or is it from inside?

Here is a picture of where the thermal couple goes into the front passenger side of the heater box.

Remove that and hopefully you can fish it up to where the valve mounts and take it out from the engine compartment.

It looks like the cable needs to be removed as well.

Replacement valves are out there.
Thank you. 110 here right now, I'll look at it in the morning when it's only 85-90.

Jim's is spot on. Disconnect and carefully fish back the capillary tube. Disconnect the hoses. Remove the three special screws and gently remove the retaining clip and anchor for the cable. Note the cable housing position - mark it. It removes from the engine side.

Oh, one more source if you farm out the repair...

X2 for heatervalves.net Joe does great work and is reasonably priced...

Got it out, had to disconnect a soft duct and a hard duct. Both fairly easy n then snake the sensor around the upper dash stuff and 3 sets of amplifier cables. I'll give heatervalves a call 1st thing in the morning n USPS express it there.
