Usps ugh

Even though they claim to deliver mail on our road (it's a paved, public road) we all use a PO box. The local PO has a drive up window. However it's closed due to the covid-19 emergency and there is a sign which says to use the lobby.

I’ll chime in on USPS- getting stuff into Canada generally USPS is best. It’s not that BECAUSE USPS is government run its bad, it’s because the FEDERAL government treats USPS horribly. And by this I don’t mean this current administration, USPS has been shafted for years by all administrations, congress and the senate. Heaven help you if you end up with a totally private system and you’re rural- get out your $300 stamps!

It just showed up ! And delivered by the cutest blond mail girl too ! :)

Where are the pics?

For a while our neighborhood was rife with MILFy postal workers. Both residents and those on the job.

Agree on USPS getting the shaft for quite some time.
Interesting that the formation of the USPS was in part to insure that dissenting periodicals about the government could be delivered.

Last week I had a small package delivered via USPS. On Monday, the tracking number showed it was delivered, but was awaiting pickup at a P.O. 50 miles away. USPS apparently figured out they'd sent it to the wrong place from the local distribution center and it showed up in my mailbox Wed with no further explanation.

I've gotta say in the past 5-6 months I've had great service with USPS. Delivery times have been very good. One package I sent to a Southern state appeared to cycle back and forth a few times on its way South, but eventually arrived OK. I have been told service appears to get worse when you go across the Mississippi into the Eastern part of the country, but I've no idea why.

A son of mine has been shipping a lot of stuff for eBay sales lately. A few days back I saw some of his packages and asked if he was actually going to ship them the way they were labelled and taped (half *** at best and a shipping label just begging to be torn off). He said yes he'd been shipping like that for weeks and hadn't had any problems.

I’ve had good luck with USPS. I bought a yoke on here from a member. He shipped two Fridays ago and I got it the follow Tuesday. WA to PA. USPS has been the fastest coast to coast, they must fly everything. I did some eBay sales the last couple of months. Used USPS for smaller packages and FEDEX for larger stuff. All good.

5 to 6 weeks for EXPRESS Post these days! Hell they haven't even got me my M/C and VISA bills yet, that are usually due on the 10th and usually in hand by the end of the previous month.

I was shocked when the post driver came here on a Saturday. He said it was his first Saturday.

What you get delivery... I gotta fetch all my packages in this one horse town. Same **** for 35 years now..

It may have been the same guy that brings my letters, he had his mask on driving a dark Caravan with Can Post sign on the Roof. I was just surprised to see him working on a Saturday and driving up to my garage.

Figure this one out.. 11 days to go from Indiana to the Global shipping center in Kentucky.. via PA 2 states East, then Ohio 1 state back and then to the state right below Indiana! Now to wait on how many days it takes from Kentucky to Ontario, I'm betting on 3 full weeks.

I fixed a couple of signs for my lake association a couple months ago, $30 a piece. Been waiting on the check to arrive ever since. 2 month to send a check a couple blocks, but of course it has to go to Detroit first??

It's like our two local town post offices. Drop a letter there to go a block up the street and it gets sent 100 miles South to be sorted in Mississauga and then the mail that's just for the town gets sent back to the same damn post office. My insurance company has been waiting 13 days now for my cheque.. and I mailed it on purpose when I could have saved 90 cents and dropped it in their mail slot a block away! :D

Dude... USPS lost one of my leaf springs... a LEAF SPRING.... my USPS is actually very reliable and timely where I'm at - I try to use them over UPS and FedEx when possible - especially sending APO stuff

We’ve had problems with shipping seatbelts. Get back shipments boxes damaged, lost packages etc. Sometimes when the box gets returned damaged we don’t know until the customer complains they haven’t received their package. End up having to make an appointment with the postmaster which at times takes several weeks. We are stuck with a small rural PO. Main excuses we get it’s the distribution center and they are short staffed because of Corona.
