Anyone else having CRAZY shipping times with USPS???

I dropped off a large flat rate priority box with the USPS on Thursday and they said the estimated delivery date to the Pennsylvania destination is Tuesday (i.e., the day after President's Day; closed for the holiday). The package was actually delivered yesterday (Saturday).

I went out last night and bought a lottery ticket just in case I'm on a run of good luck.

Had a good one lately. Pa to Dallas, 2 days. Dallas to Rockwall, TX. 6 more days. How far is Rockwall? About a 30 minute drive.
Hey do you remember many years ago when I sent you the correct tire stud for your R/T and it took like 8-9 days to go a 1/2 hr away?

Now I’ll worry. I’ve grown wary of selling stuff online in recent years due to a few reasons including shipping issues.
But a few weeks ago I decided I’d dip my toes in the water to try selling some of my horde online, and listed a few items on another forum. One thing sold to a guy in Wisconsin, I shipped it USPS ground, and he got it in 2 days.
A guy in CA bought another item last week, I shipped it USPS one price box Friday and they said it’ll get there Tuesday.
I hope it gets to my buyer!

So far, just once. Mailed a package to NV and it went east from Texas (iirc to NY) then across the northern states before making it into NV. I'm guessing that was about a year ago or so.
Yep Cranky that was an interesting situation we had!!! It did arrive intact and works as you described...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

How about you others, and me, that accept bank checks, or postal money orders, for parts sales, on these forums.
Sometimes it's also been taken lots longer to get the payment in the mailbox, that the buyer thinks it should.
Been telling them, no, it hasn't got to me yet.
Snail mail, also in the regular letter delivery.
I'm glad that i have lotsa positive "feedback" on these web sites, that I'm not ripping them off in the parts selling department.
Currently waiting on a couple of payments to reach me.

Wow! I thought it was just me having trouble with the USPS lately. I have been blaming it all on the St Paul MN distribution center. Now it looks to be way more widespread that just one distribution center. I have had a few instances with them recently where packages get to the Distribution center and don't leave for a week or so. One tracking number didn't move from Jan 17th until Feb 10th. I figured they got tired of shifting it from one shelf to another so finally sent it out. It all boils down to the six "P's". Proper planning prevents piss poor performance.

Same happens here, everything gets stuck in Richmond VA distribution center which is 60 miles away. I had one package the other day that was stuck in Richmond for 4 days when it was finally released it was sent to the post office in the next county over, which is about 10 miles away. Instead of sending it to my post office they sent it back to Richmond where it sat for another 3 days before finally getting delivered to me. It originally only took it 2 days to get to Richmond and 8 days after that to get it from Richmond to me, which is 60 miles.

This package ordered from amazon is supposed to be coming to Oregon!

I've received 17 of the 18 packages I've ordered in the last 3 weeks. Two from UPS, 15 from USPS and one from FedEx that never made it. Where I'm from, USPS is not my biggest problem, but FedEx blows and so does anyone that likes them and God help those that work for them. I can track UPS and USPS just fine. The FedEx package showed it never shipped for six days and then I got a notice yesterday that it was delivered two day ago, never happened...

Our old USPS mailman/woman did a great job, up until like Jan. 2021
they started doing a different training & hiring programs (DEI) or something
the older carriers were put on different routes

When it snows/rains here the USPS mail sucks *** here
it's an easy route like 80+ home small rural community, 12-15 miles from town
with mail boxes on the side of the road,
unless it's a package too big they don't even have to get out

what the heck ever happened to the their mantra ?
rain wind sleet or snow, from the night or day :blah:
the mail always gets through (something like that BS)

yeah right :jackoff:
past few winters our mail service has been a training route
I called the central office here & checked & made a complaint
after talking to one of the older/long time mail carriers
he had said;
they couldn't get the younger employees to work,
they are paid very well too
they often had packages & undelivered mail/bills etc., that they didn't deliver
come back in the right hand drive Jeeps back to the local PO...
Had to go out the next day, the supervisors hope/pray they were delivered...
Record #s of complaints (DEI)

Summer, fall & later in spring don't seem like as much of a problem
maybe different trainees ?

UPS does a great job here too,
it comes out of Angels Camp some 50-ish miles down the hill
the driver/s seems very good too, walks up & puts the stuff by the door,
rings the bell usually too (seems like a different driver every so often too)
our old drivers, a husband & wife were locals, lived right up the street,
unfortunately they both retired

FedEx sucks *** all year long, I try to not ever use them'
request another shipper if & when I can
the FedEx douche (subcontractors I'm sure)
I've seen throw it from the bottom of the stairs
onto the front of the deck
seems like 99% of the time, they are in a reg. white van, Ford usually too
with some magnetic signs slapped on it (screams out subcontractors)

the Yella fellas weren't any better either...

Theresa's dad was a mail carrier, and yes, things will never be as they once were. Our mail gal is super and she works her *** off. The many subs we have suck. It's not that they lose the mail, they're just slow and don't care.

USPS is lazy too. I have had several packages that were too big for the mailbox and they put a delivery attempted notice in the mailbox and come get it at the post office, because they were too lazy to drive it down the driveway. Thing is I’m home all day and I have an alarm in my mailbox. I know when the mail arrives. They never attempted delivery. One day I caught them at the mailbox when I had a notification that my package was out for delivery. I asked them where my package was. They said it was too big to put in the postal vehicle and I needed to come to the post office to get it. It was a bag of cat food from Chewy. Since then I have been scanning the barcodes on the notices they leave in the mailbox and schedule redelivery, I also sign the notification and schedule redelivery, and leave it in the mailbox with the flag up. Since I have been doing that they quit being lazy and started bringing me my packages and no longer lie and say delivery attempt failed come get it at the post office.

So the one part I never received, I canceled and got a refund. I couldn't find it, it was out of stock everywhere I checked except from Jegs. I ordered it Thursday and it just showed up at my door ten minutes ago. I absolutely needed it by the 31st. Mission accomplished.
