Carlisle 2020

Well I was going to make Carlisle for the first time this year, but it's likely that my car is still going to be at the mechanic's shop. It was supposed to go there in February, but he pushed that back because of a few reasons, including "the pandemic" and I trust him and it's the only place that I have experience with that can do everything that needs to be done.
4 wheel disc brake system
Line lock
Wraptor serpentine belt and accessory system, including A/C compressor and power steering pump
Power steering box (Borgeson)
Vintage Air A/C system
Hydraulic throwout bearing and HitMaster launch control system
Dakota Digital gauges
Cold Case radiator
Complete QA1 K-member and front suspension system with SPC UCAs
Transmission rear seal replacement
Possibly a new driveshaft
Caltracs split mono leaf springs and sliders
Assassin traction bars
Viking double adjustable rear shocks
I am collecting up my parts and boxes today, to bring there. If I missed anything, I'll add it.
Once all of that is done, the GTO goes there for:
Wraptor serpentine belt and accessory system
Replace the Quick Performance Ford 9" based rear axle housing with the new one they made that has the correct adjustable lower lift bar bracket, and is set up exclusively for coilovers
Install coilover conversion kit and coilovers
TKO 600 5 speed, new clutch disc and pressure plate and hydraulic throwout bearing
Vinage Air A/C system
So IF he finishes my car in time for Carlisle, I'll go, but I can't plan ahead for that because I don't think it will be finished in time.

I read that the PA Governor extended his order for 90 days. Being an Ohioan, not sure what the original PA order was, and what effect, if any, on Carlisle, that extension will have.

I registered and have hotel lined up, just hoping the extension does not change things.

Can any PA residents help me understand?

The governor extended the declaration so he could reimpose the stay at home order if needed without having to re-declare it, or something like that. The whole state comes out of stay at home tonight, in two weeks we all should be in the "green" phase which removes almost all restrictions.

"The emergency disaster declaration provides for increased support to state agencies involved in the continued response to the virus and recovery for the state during reopening."

I'll be there. Car just getting finished up and reassembled after 2nd round of paint. Haven't drove her since Mopar Madness at Maple grove lat year. Can't wait! picking it up Thursday.

That's a lot of work ...with a lot of potential for things to wrong and stretch out the required time. Just one guy?

No, he has a few experienced mechanics that work for him, but jobs like this and the work he previously did on the GTO he likes to be the lead tech on, and stay on the job rather than delegate.

I just saw the list of COVID rules for Carlisle, and its not short.
....the body condom seemed excessive though...

OK, so I have 7 vendor spaces in row P, far corner by gate 7. Lots of shade for a good part of the day and I always rent at least a 20X30 tent, draws a lot of shade tree lookers.
My question is how to keep people from huddling up in the shade?

We have been going for a number of years well before the Carlisle show and have been vending for about 10 or so years. We don't even have a border open yet and its only a few weeks away. Even if we got over we would still have to quarantine for two weeks. We cancelled its just not worth it this year but will be there next year.

Walking around wearing face masks in 90+ degree heat will not be fun.

Says you need a mask to enter, doesn’t say what happens once you’re in. Around here the mask thing is 50/50. Only store I’ve been in that looked like 100% compliance was a Wally Mart the other day. But, I feel like I need a mask to go there even without a pandemic.

Was at a local car show last weekend and no masks.

This sucks... Have to say really thinking about not setting up and just enjoying the show although I have a building I was hoping to make some space in...

Can’t breathe in that mucky soup without a mask.
Wash your hands, no hugging or sneezing and be done with it. Wolfe is an asshole.

Got my tickets today also... Heading up for spring Carlisle to see what that show looks like and will determine if I bother trying to sell some parts...

My friend is going to lease 2 of my spaces out of 7.
I have 5 spaces in row P-216 to P-220 for lease
PM me through the board if you are interested.

Thanks

Ed
