I have come across this 73 rallye which appears to be a oddball? 400 2 barrel? Sunroof? AC, and although the tag doesn't show it, it has factory cruise control. This is a pretty odd combo isn't it?

I don't know if it is an "oddball", 73 was already leaning away from muscle and more towards flash and comfort, so those options don't seem out of place. However, it does seem pretty well optioned and maybe on the rare side with the sunroof.

Is there a build sheet to show it actually is a Rallye? Besides the loaded options, having a 2bbl would be bizarre.

I know you could order the rallye package in 72 with a 318 if you wanted. I am sure in 73 you could order pretty much any engine you wanted in whatever trim package. Cool car though, sunroofs were pretty rare.

I've seen a 72 rallye with a 400-2.

Petty blue and coded for sport hood stripe.

Not well documented, to say the least not to mention different engine option policies for Dodge and corresponding Plymouth's.

Wh23 with the j54 performance hood and v21 performance hood treatment make it a rallye as far as I know

there is no way to get J54 and V21 codes if wasn't a Rallye

I replied without check your reply LOL

althought it could be still WL21 and still a Rallye with those codes.Rallye package was optional to hardtops and couples the same.

All Engines but /6 were optionals with Rallyes, including LoPo. 318 which it was 2 bbls was the standard engine in fact.

Nacho....I thought Rallye's had the A57 on the fender tag do designate as a true Rallye car.
There is no A57 on the fender tag. A57 is a Rallye car. Also Rallye's did not come with 2bbl's. Something is fishy on this one.

OP's pic is a Lynch Rd tag.

WAY less coding on LR tags.

I've also seen the hood not coded on a rallye but the hood stripe coded.

Back in bout 2205 I had a base Charger 400 4 speed car, I think it was 73 or 74 car. Cool car. I coold hardly give it way when I wanted it gone. Finally got $3000 and it was solid driver, needed really nothing. That was 15 years ago.

2205?

You sure it wasn't a delorean?

I saw those and though the same thing. I guess I'm thrown because I've never seen a 400 2bbl Rallye. Yes, other small block 2bbl cars, but never a big block 2bbl. I'm still curious if the build sheet exists? That is quite a car.

383 2 bbl

383 2 bbl engine???????? 361 2 bbl engine??????

as being said, is true A57 is the code for Rallyes, but Lynch Road cars ( and this is the case ) didn't use to code packages, just equipments from packages separatelly ( and sometimes not all of them )

and yes, 400 2bbls was also available on Rallyes

The numbers I have for WH23 73 Rallyes are 6019 total production with A57. But no break down on 2bbl cars. 5544 account for 440(U), 400-4bbl(P), and 340(H). That leaves 475 for 318-2 and 400-2 Rallyes. There was only 556 WH23 sunroof cars of the total 45,415 WH23 Chargers in 73 so this is a RARE one.
