Tony is not a concourse restoration master. He is a guy that chooses function over form. In many cases, if you wait for your car to be perfect before you drive it, it may never leave your house.

A little info on Uncle Tony.. You can't really discount this guy hes not the cleanest channel to watch but he actually has some automotive credit. Just google him and you will find out some pretty interesting information.

Please pardon me while I freak out. I followed this guy's writing career for twenty years. He invented blue collar no B.S. "journalism". I had many, many occasions to laugh out loud while reading Tony's articles on street racers, nitro freaks and back yard tech. What an unrecognized icon. He totally grasped the concept of doing what we do, in a never condescending sort of way. Jeez we need a guy like that-so much passion and fresh ideas!

I met a very old guy decades ago back in Missouri, just sitting in his old Road Runner, listening to the engine running. He was too old to drive.

This is all well and good but being a writer doesn't mean he in infallible or even knows what he is talking about. I am not saying he doesn't know anything but I find some of his comments and "advice" sketchy at best. The last video I watched of his was him talking about how bad the G2 Hemi is and listening to it you would think they all are grenades with the pin pulled and yet there are literally millions of them on the road and they are still being produced none of which he really addresses. On top of that, he comes off like he is the only one on the planet who has figured this supposed catastrophic problem. My feeling is that he has drank his own koolaide and that coupled with some of his suspect advice, I opt not to watch him.

I watched a video where he sent a kid to Nicks Garage to get a I think 318 Dyno tested that Tony threw together.. And the engine failed pretty bad. If I remember correct it had oiling issues.. Tony threw the engine together for the kid and failing to properly clean the block was the failure point. So Yea he is not perfect but in most cases he gives it to you straight. I'm not a huge fan but some information he has is good stuff.

Seems ole Tony's advice is lots of his opinion, and a grass roots desire to build stuff that works without the big $$, so many of us low level guys can afford to listen to his opinions. Maybe some Hollywood thrown in??
