this is typically whats found on the ID machine pads:

Diamond=..................0.008" oversize tappets
Maltese Cross=...........0.001" undersized crankshaft
Maltese Cross + X=......0.010" undersized crankshaft
A=............................0.020" oversize cylinder bore
B=............................0.010" undersized main/rod bearings
E=............................cast crank
H=............................standard 4bbl
HP=..........................high performance
HP2=.........................high performance second shift
LC=...........................low compression
OS=..........................0.005" oversize valvestem
P=............................premium fuel
R=............................regular fuel
S=............................special engine
PT=..........................Trenton assembly plant
T=............................Trenton assembly plant (400 & 440 only)
WT or TW=................water test
X=............................oversized valvestems

If that is an F it would be Jan. 14th 1970. If it is an E it would be same date 1969. B means .010" undersize rods and mains, according to my info.

I have a 70 Super Bee built on April 6th 1970. Would this block be era correct if my car was a 440 six pack car?

It's close.... I've seen many closer & a few much earlier....

What does the VIN stamp on the oil pan rail say? If the VIN stamped on the block matches the car VIN then it is the correct block. The date code is in the general range but the only thing that matters is the VIN. If the VIN matches then nobody cares about the date.
