Blew the doors off my 68 Satellite yesterday in prep for an American Autowire Classic Update whole car wiring harness. Figured I’d send them to Mopar Leo for a quality rebuild. Also going to pull the carpet, treat any surface rust with rust converter and lay down boom mat where ever I can. By then, I should have the harness (6 week back order last I checked). I’ll try and post pics as I go along (for anyone interested). Got the hinges in the mail yesterday to Leo. Looking forward to some solid doors!

'68 Satellite with a '69 front "clip".....?

You recently buy this from a guy named Dan in Wisconsin?

Just curious - seems I may recognize this car.

Thanks
Mark

Indeed I did. It’s been a lot of work so far. I still keep Dan updated on the stuff I’m doing. How do you know Dan?

I've known his wife, Deb, for many years. Where they live in - Dodge/Pine Creek -, folks know me as "Sparky". (in other area towns, people call me by other nicknames) Only ever saw pics of the car, but surmised it was originally an RH23(F?)8-rear has '68 sidemarkers-(probably "G"/St. Louis?), not an "RM" or "x9x", but never saw it in person to look at VIN. I only met Dan briefly, one time, when I ran into Deb and him at a gas station - well before they were married.

Thanks
Mark

I decoded the VIN last Father’s Day, when I bought it from Dan. Tried to make a 3 hr drive back home and the water pump, belts and coil all blew. AAA ride home at 0200. Good memories. I’ve done every piece of the suspension (front and rear), installed power brakes with front disc kit (Dr Diff) and had a friend change out the posi unit for a nicer style. After a good alignment and a kick down lever on the tranny it drives better than 68. Now I’m working my way towards all new wiring. Little by little. As for the engine, he had the OE 318 stroked/ported/cam swap in Colorado. It’s around 390 cubic inches and hp somewhere around 400. 8 3/4 rear end that’s been beefed up a bit. I’m still finding ‘surprises’ as I go. Dan’s a good guy.

As far as I know, it’s just the front fenders, grill and maybe hood from another car (69).
