Not that I'm a convertible guy or that fond of yellow, but I would have bought it.

Buy a new Hell Cat for $27,000. Just saying.

I just did that for the prospective of back when. 10 cent loaf of bread, 35 cents for a gallon of gas and the like. I remember a few guys from school who had wealthy parents and they would show up with a brand new muscle car. We had to make due with hammydown cars or a fixer upper that we paid $200 bucks for. :(

I understand my first car was a 51 Buick Special when I was 15. $250. It had 27000 miles. I sold it in 1967 for the downpayment on my 67 Satellite with 92000 miles and I got $250. That Satellite was $2995 tax ,tag and license.

Although I wasn't even thought of at the time, if I had a time machine I'd want one of these in this color. I am a diehard enthusiast of these and it's my dream car.....

In November 1969 I had a new job and I went back to the Chrysler Plymouth dealer where I had worked and had the owner's wife write me up a quote on a new Sport Suburban, 9 passenger, 350 Horse 440, TorqueFlite, 3.23 SureGrip, PS, disc brakes, power windows, A/C and a roof rack. I wanted kind of a duplicate of my '59 Sport Suburban Golden Commando car. She quoted me $3660, their cost plus 10%, $119 a month for 36 months. I would probably still have her if I had pulled the trigger. My parents and I decided that I just couldn't do it. The one question that has dogged me for a long time is would the Zone Office have built me a Six Barrel Sport Suburban GT? The Sport Suburbans had the same front styling as the Sport Furys and came down the same assembly line.

Also in 1969 I could've bought a '66 Belvedere 1 2 door sedan Hemi 4 speed car for $1200 and in 1970 one of the C-P dealers in Philly had a '68 Hemi Charger for $1800.

I do believe that station wagons came down the same assembly line but at different times, you know build a certain car for awhile then start the wagons

I own a pile of Rebel Machine...... for what it's worth
