64 Fury Slip Yoke conversion

Hi guys, I’m in the process of converting my 64 fixed-yoke torqueflite over to a slip yoke. I know that I have to use a 65 tail shaft and housing. My question is, will the 65 cable shift tranny work behind my 413? I would like to just change one for the other if it does but not sure of the differences. Is the 65 flex plate center the same or is that the year they made the change? Trying to save time and avoid more work if possible.

I think you need the 64 rooster comb in that 65 transmission to work with your 64 push buttons. Flex plate should be the same. What change are you referring to?

Is the '64 console shift or push button? If it's a console, the '65 will work with no changes but if it's push button you need to change the valve body.

Not many 65 cable shift transmission in California due to government pressure to scrap everything older than 10 years and I think I’m going to go with the fixed yoke I have and have a splined driveshaft that will work. Not like the original.I’ve been doing some research on it. Not building a strip car but close to original. Thanks for the info though!

Orinally a push button bench seat car. Everything was gone when I got it so, we are converting to console.
