I simply cannot take it anymore!

How can you begrudge a girl working at a fruit stand? It was either that or being a telemarketer. Some people have little options for employment. They are the equivalent of stoners from the 70's. At least they were entertaining. This is Dave, Dave's not here.
Agreed

Its because so many need something to bitch and moan about. They talk about the younger generation like they are idiots because some kid cant make change without having a register do it for her but the kids going to school, working after school they get put in a category like they are all idiots
Than its blame the teachers, the usual noise from the usual haters
What I find ironic is how so many of my generation can believe all the big lies, ignore what science tells us because some wannabe dictator told us what to believe and they sucked it all in hook line and sinker and yet its todays youth who they accuse of being stupid
If anyones to blame some only need to find a mirror.
Children today are smarter and hold the key to the future but I think a element is afraid of a younger generation that can think for themselves and judge for themselves

so I just came inside to catch my breath, I was pounding a pipes into the ground for the above mentioned greenhouse. As I was pounding I was thinking (imagine that)

I knew the 10.88 didn't sound right, but I'm not one to make a seen over a few dollars. I just accepted it and paid......... Maybe the price of tomatoes is way up like everything else? what do I know? but I digress......back to the thinking while pounding.....

it occurred to me that if she was too stupid to make change, there is a good chance she is too stupid to charge me the right amount.....hmmmmm

I'm thinking I'm not the only customer she's pissed off......... probably the owners daughter......good luck with that
Maybe they were organic

I get that change thing all the time, some kids cant count, depend on computer/register to do all the work
When I pumped gas back in 68 it was at a Hess station, one of the first of its kind here on the island....We pumped a huge volume of gasoline. Even back than, the weekends were extremely busy. We had like 6 guys working a shift plus the manager. Only Two guys held money, you had to make change all day long, no register, just take the money, make the change.... Dont come up short at the end of the day as it came out of your pay
Maybe that's what they should do in math classes now, if you're wrong you have to pay the diff out of your lunch money...hmm...I might think more on this...

Well...at least she WAS working. A good portion of these young people are sitting on their asses collecting YOUR tax money for doing nothing. And they'll continue to do it as long as they're allowed to. Thank your local elected officials for buying votes.

Show me that generation, because they certainly aren't in MY world...

"Thinking" doesn't mean Google.

Wait until the results of the latest "math and grammar are racist" craze start to affect the workforce. Can't add because your prog schools dropped math....how ya gonna build that bridge, junior? How ya gonna figure my change? 2+3 DOES equal 5, and I can PROVE it. Learn it and move on.

I will have to disagree with the level of intelligence in the kids now. I have interviewed so many applicants for jobs and am amazed at how deficit they are. Reading and writing are first issues. The inability to read a tape measure. Adding two numbers together in your head. Remembering any kind of sequence. I wonder if most would wipe their *** before they take a dump. I have operated my own business for 26 years and have accepted that the less employees I have, the happier I am and the less work I have to do.

Remember when the 1/3 pound burger came out as a marketing campaign against the 1/4 Pounder? It didn't work because the number 4 was bigger than the number 3 and people didn't want less for their money.

There are stupid people and bright people.....there are people with good common sense and there are people with none. Always have been, always will be. If you are saying we all had more of both back in the day when we were young I'm thinking its just a classic case of "rose tinted glasses".

Of all the advanced math courses I took in high school and college, the course I've actually found the most
useful in real life was one I took as a "slack-off" course when I was a senior - it was called "Consumer Math"
and taught the basics of balancing a checkbook, how interest works on compound and simple loans, saving for
the future - all the NECESSARY math everyone should have a handle on.
I chose it because I thought it was a goof-off class. What I found was it was ESSENTIAL and every student ought
to take it, it should be mandatory as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe your exposure to "intelligent" younger generations is tempered with "Blue Blocker" glasses.

Speak for yourself ok
From what you’ve written in the past I wouldn’t talk to much

Just use your debt card from now on and you won't have to worry about the dumb *** behind the counter. Its really sad what has happened to the youth of America.

If you like to have your shopping habits tracked and then get boatloads of junk mail and other crap, along with the major increased risk of I.D theft, you go right ahead and do that, not I said the wise man!!

That’s a real low lousy comment
I’m really disappointed in you

I write books & articles on the side (Head Porting book as an example). I'm 54 years old, and went to school before things apparently changed. For example: when I was learning in school, we would use a comma to delineate between EVERY option; "I have a Dodge, Plymouth, and a Chrysler." Now, they teach using a comma between all but the last two entries; "I have a Dodge, Plymouth and a Chrysler." Most rules of language still apply the same as I learned in school, but things I look at and think, "That's wrong!" apparently are now correct.

I fail to see when it became a bad thing, to care about using your native language correctly.
Don't rely on spellcheck, or autocorrect. It's a crutch. And, many times, it's flat-out wrong. Use your brain. Keep it exercised, and in shape. It's the only one you get!
1. Never start a sentence with a conjunction (such as "and").
2. Several errors in punctuation and syntax occur in the post as well.
Allow me:

This is one arrangement; there are others that are fine to use as well.

I use my brains every time I type! I guess at how a word is spelled, it's called phonics. Something my Mother taught me as a kid, spell it like it's pronounced she'd say. So I do!! and the wiggly red line tells me I'm wrong and the dropdown for it gives me options for what word I'm trying to spell/type. But I guess I'm not exercising my brain like I should by doing that???? Some words that I know are spelled correctly, it will tell me I'm wrong which I know I'm not, and therefore ignore it.
