Windshield trim clips

Can someone tell how many clips were used on the front upper and sides of the front windshield and can you post a picture of the clip locations? I think my body guy maybe have relocated and or added a few. Thanks

Hi on my 68 Charger I have 3 on each side
8 across the top 9 on the bottom, I was not impressed by the “ Authentic Mopar” repop clips very bendy they don’t spring back, as I found out test fitting trim to them , if you bend them back they snap & break , luckily I saved a lot of the originals ,I was short about 6 so I spaced them apart, so at least I have one between the monkey metal, also the screw heads are larger than original , which made the F bombs drop ,I hope this helps you Cheers !!

The bottom has indents in the cowl where each clip goes..

Thanks for the replies. I noticed some cars have 8 across the top and some have 10. I just wanted to make sure my body guy didn’t put in any extra.

Jumping in on this old thread…

I have been battling the windshield lower trim installation for the 68 Charger. The top and side windshield trim went in without a fuss.

Studying the pics in this thread and other sources, I think the wrong clips were installed along the bottom. Attached are some close up photos from a few angles.

Can one of the gurus help me with:
1. Do I indeed have the wrong (to short) clips installed?
2. Does the windshield bottom use different clips than the top & sides?
3. Is there any way to remove the windshield and reuse the gasket, or should I just plan on trashing the gasket and buying new? Of course that includes resealing.

Don't get the thick powder coated clips they are not spring steel.

The bottom takes the tall clips. The gasket can be removed and reused.

Some of the early 68 b bodies used the 66-67 style clips on the lower part of the windshield.
