Happy Father's Day to the FBBO dad's out there. I got some cork Felpro valve cover gaskets as a Father's Day gift and went to install them this morning. But first a question from a first timer with a classic car... Is this much movement on the valves typical for a 440? Or, should I get this into more capable hands?

How long since the engine last ran? Minutes? Hours? Or days?

Pretty normal with a hydraulic cam.

A few should be tight on the open valves. The rest loose like that.

How does it sound when running, quiet or clatters?

You can prime the oil pump with a drill and do that Wiggle test again then they should all be tight

Thanks for the reply! It's been about 2 weeks since it last ran.

Yes the lifters bleed down, the time varies, but 2 weeks is a relatively long time.

how does it sound when it’s running? Any valve clatter or ticking?

Not that I've noticed. Once I get the valve covers back on I'll have to check
