I am stunned,and grateful for all the comments. I worried about posting it because it might be considered pretentious. but thinking about how many great guys there are here, they would be annoyed if I didn't.
and quite frankly I am still so excited I can't keep my big mouth shut!
my oldest son who is 43 said: WHAT? manual steering and brakes? who is going to drive it for you, Dad? ARGHHHH!

and the tach, reverse light, and radio even works!
If I knew how to down load video I would start it up for everybody. The exhaust is just right.it sounds a lot like a stock HP 383 but with a one step up from stock.and starts with a turn of the key, dead cold.I remember in 1985 when I had my first yellow car saying:" if it was just a 383 four speed, all would be good with the world."
Things happen for a reason, I believe for sure.

Thanks Richard, I have been working so much I didn't notice that site. Once I take it off the trailer I will get better pictures. about half the car is original paint and really nice, the other half is off a shade from maintenance.for now I will just buff it and drive it, and think about painting it.
It was tough paying for the car, and getting my 69 Cuda running. It is also a 383 four speed car. My wife is an angel,,,,,,,,,,

Very nice find! My brother bought one of those new in 68. His was Gold with black vinyl top. 383 4 speed with 3.23 gears. It was a one wheel wonder for a couple months until he upgraded to a 3.55 Sure grip. Only 259 of them built that way so it is a rare one. Congrats!

The car has 3:91 gears, But I can't decipher the code on the build sheet to see if it is original
the axle code is 242? anybody? the pinion code is 32?

My wife drove my last yellow charger across country numerous times back in the 80's,so I don't think there is a chance it will go anywhere. Buy I will sell that 69 salvage charger sitting behind the barn! I am still looking for a stick to put it on!
