Let's see those side projects...

I'd like to know how that works out for you, I've always wondered! Please post a review.
I will my friend. So far it's pretty sweet as far as the quality goes. very nice hydr hoses and fittings, haven't had to search for any bits and bobs. Very straightforward. Everything is well labeled and numbered. You would have to be blind and stupid to hook anything up incorrectly. It's important to follow the manual steps to bleed the system after you get it going. After my first use i'll put up a review thread. Just finished watching a nice video of assembly that answered a few questions that I had. The directions were sort of vague.

Starting the refinish project on some 100 year old stack book cases.
They have been in my wifes family for decades.
They were left to my wife but need some TLC. I enjoy refinishing old wood furniture.
Been a hobby of mine over the years.

On my 5th year of making these benches for a music festival I go to every year. Everything is harvested from the land, or repurposed. I use cardboard tubes from carpet rolls for the forms, the rocks come from the rock “walls” around the property, which was a farm at one time, and the bench tops come from trees they cut down on the property to make way for stages and such. These go down “workshop lane” where the acts that come and play the main stages also put on workshops on instruments, singing and all sorts of stuff. I love doing them, it is a way to give back to the festival, and the people who attend.

Being a furniture maker by trade and starting with wood that still had the bark on it, I can appreciate the work involved in what you've done. Very nice and well done!!!

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. I love doing them, and I have a crew of folks that work with me on projects up there. We always say, getting together to work on stuff is better than the festival itself. Well, sometimes!

If you look in the background of the last picture, you can see what the circles looked like,or what was left of them. A much needed upgrade I think!

A friend decided to put her house on the market, so I've spent the last week removing dead trees; removing said stumps; disassembling and disposing of said trees and stumps; fixing drywall throughout the 3400SF house (crappy builder-spec neighborhood, built in '92); replacing dated and inoperative lighting fixtures; painting (kitchen, foyer, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, upstairs foyer, various ceilings, and exterior trim); and removing carpet to prep for new carpet installation. This was my last week off before starting a new job on Monday, so...why bother taking a break?

Next week, my new job is 2 miles from another friend's house who just had mastectomy surgery...and she has half a maple tree down in her yard. I told her years ago that she needed to trim it....but it split in half in a storm recently. So, after work in the evenings, I need to go to her place and disassemble and remove THAT tree.

At least I'm done renovating my rental apartment, and can finally list that as available to rent. Replaced every inch of wiring in the place; every fixture; every switch; every outlet; installed a new breaker box; installed a new water heater; installed a new heat pump. Put a floor in the full attic, making a HUGE storage space. Refinished the front sun porch, adding HVAC, LED lights, insulation, drywall, and hardwood floors. Redid all the walls (plaster; repairs; paint). Refinished the original 1952 hardwood floors inside. Installed a new kitchen. Installed all-new ceramic tile in the bathroom. Passed all inspections, and now ready to go!
