A friend decided to put her house on the market, so I've spent the last week removing dead trees; removing said stumps; disassembling and disposing of said trees and stumps; fixing drywall throughout the 3400SF house (crappy builder-spec neighborhood, built in '92); replacing dated and inoperative lighting fixtures; painting (kitchen, foyer, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, upstairs foyer, various ceilings, and exterior trim); and removing carpet to prep for new carpet installation. This was my last week off before starting a new job on Monday, so...why bother taking a break?
Next week, my new job is 2 miles from another friend's house who just had mastectomy surgery...and she has half a maple tree down in her yard. I
told her years ago that she needed to trim it....but it split in half in a storm recently. So, after work in the evenings, I need to go to her place and disassemble and remove THAT tree.
At least I'm done renovating my rental apartment, and can finally list that as available to rent. Replaced every inch of wiring in the place; every fixture; every switch; every outlet; installed a new breaker box; installed a new water heater; installed a new heat pump. Put a floor in the full attic, making a HUGE storage space. Refinished the front sun porch, adding HVAC, LED lights, insulation, drywall, and hardwood floors. Redid all the walls (plaster; repairs; paint). Refinished the original 1952 hardwood floors inside. Installed a new kitchen. Installed all-new ceramic tile in the bathroom. Passed all inspections, and now ready to go!
