Need advice on new positive battery cable

QUOTE="Mopar Hunter, post: 911968920, member: 28155"]Buy direct from M&H.
Went to M&H, they don't sell direct. They have a message that says shop at Year One ($139.00)
Concourse cable. Went to Year One. They don't take PayPal. I have a nice balance at PayPal and
would like to use it. Oh well, I'm getting tired of the constant run around. Thanks Guys!
Did you call M&H? If not, talk to Ken Pettey.
Yearone does not have the licensing rights for the battery cables, they have Joe Blow (anyone) make them that are cheap.

So after ordering the cable from Year One, Me gets to thinking if I'm actually gonna get
an M&H cable? I called Year One and asked and they said the cable I was getting was from
a company called "Queary". I said, "Cancel it"! I called M&H and talked to Ken Pettey as
you suggested, (Thank you very much!) and he said that they have no stock, no ETA, no
nuthin! They can't get the raw parts to make the finished product. You are right about
the rights to the battery cables, but you can't get to them on their web site. Oh well,
still looking. Will keep you all advised.

Hello Gents! I'm at the point that I need to purchase a positive battery cable for my 68 GTX.
Year one has a sale going on this weekend, but they have two that look identical. One is $32.00, and the other one is $139.00. What the Hey! I don't care who I buy from, I just
want a quality piece. Not bargain hunting, just want good stuff. EEnie Meeni, Chili Beeny,
the spirits are about to speak! Thanks again Guys.
Make a good one its easy.

Just curious, what do those cable terminals look like?
Post is lead no crimp. starter and the start run wire looks like original. Cloth cover over part of the positive lead with the start run wire in it also. Have to back up on the ground wire got it form NAPA. Has the extra ground wire on it like a number 10 wire. Used it in the bond wire system I put through out the hole car.

Having been a former distributor for the Quirey cable .
Same product as the Yearone cable ,,, along with a vast majority of the resellers out there selling battery cables .

I can honestly say its a very good product.

I bought a $30-40 cable a few years ago, and when I got it I realized it said it was not for mini starters. I figured what the hell and tried it. On the 2nd crank, it melted the solder out of the battery terminal. It was then that I bought cable, terminals, solder pellets, heat shrink, and a crimper to make my own. I solder the battery end and crimp the starter end. I don't need them to look factory correct, just need them to work and not be a trouble source.

Yearone sells the ones that are made with aluminum in their cables, not the copper wires, this came from Yearone techs.

Got my cable from Mancini in ONE DAY! Holy Cow. Looks good, correct ends. We shall see what we shall see!

This must be something new.

When i was a retailer for the product.
I assure you there were a copper strand cable

Aluminum is fine electrically, until the current load increases, then the resistance
goes up and it starts making heat. When that happens, it's a vicious circle. No one
expects these cables to be made out of aluminum, but hey, they do all kinds of
screwey **** in China! The main cable is supposed to be made of 4AWG Copper.
anything else and it's not good.

The problem would lie in the connection between aluminum and copper terminals. Dissimilar metals and aluminum oxidizes easily.

They quit using aluminum wiring in houses in the 1970's because it caused a lot of house fires from overheated wires.
Stick with well made copper battery cables.

I forgot @Crackedback makes and sells cables.

Yes, I make cables from 1/0 welding cable. I also will build to spec, want a longer cable to run off firewall with headers, no problem. They perform much better than any OEM replacement will, don't have the factory look.

This set was done for a member here, 68 GTX. Looks like I hadn't finished shrinking the tube when this pic was taken.

That figures! I would have had you make me one up. Had no idea. I'll keep you in my Rolodex
in case I need a longer one or I burn this thing up.
Who cares about looking stock. Looks like a quality piece!
