What size socket to remove BB balancer bolt?

Some thing I should know. But what size socket to remove stock size balancer bolt on a 440.

Hell I don't own one of them. At first I though Greg was joking. Until I looked them up on line. Lots for sale if I need one. Getting by with the 1 1/4
I think a 31mm would be a close fit. My 32 is too lose and my 30mm is too tight. 6 point impacts of course. Try to stay away from 12 points except for the rear main seal retainer.

When I said impact socket, I didn't mean use a impact gun just the socket. It seems these days you can get 6 point impact sockets easier that you can get 6 point regular sockets.

1-1/4" and then you install the ARP 1/2" square hole bolt and life is much better.

Just be mindful of older paint build-up on the bolt heads.....a looser socket will wear away that paint before you realise the bolt is damaged.

You know, I was kidding.... BUT... it's true.... I got tools 50 years old, my dad got me a craftsman starter set as a teen, then it was Craftsman, S-K, Snap-on, etc.

You are probably right. The large sockets I have are from some parts store from years ago.

One trick I used to do when I wanted to get the bolt loose was to use a breaker bar and rotate the crank until the bar rested on the frame rail then give the starter a couple of hits on the key.
