Pin Stripe

Here's a question for the group. I don't see a spot or code anywhere that would indicate the roof line pin stripe. The question is how I can determine whether or not my 66 had it on it or not? My car is a 383 4v automatic, air, ps, multi speed wiper motor, console clock equiped car.

No, it's on the broadcast sheet. Might be on the fendertag.. not 100%

1966 Fender tag under the “N” for the stripe on the roof will be:
B = black
W = white
H = red
Q = red
E = blue
8 = no stripe
I've seen them with nothing under the N to

1967 S is for the roof stripe.
W = white
B = black
C = blue
H = red
8 = no stripe

The stripe was standard on all cars
That's why there is no code for the stripe
Our cars could be ordered as stripe delete
If yours was ordered stripe delete it would be listed on the fender Tag

My fender tag does not have any letter under the N, see reply above. Mine must not have had the strip than.

if it does not say Delete (8) then it had a stripe
They had to be ordered without the stripe
Stripes were standard
only cars marked for Stripe Delete did not get them

No kidding, ok is there any way to know what color it might have been, originally my car was white, my fender tag says "BDY" XP29, "TRM" P4T "PAINT" WW18Y

NO THE INTERIOR IS EITHER THE GOLD OR THE TAN, THEY ARE SO CLOSE I DONT KNOW, I BELIEVE IT IS THE TAN. SINCE THE "TRM" P4T, BUT I COULD ACTUALLY USE HELP SINCE I HAVE TO ORDER CARPET ANYWAYS.

The 8 in WW18Y means stripe delete. The 8 is under the N in PAINT. The Y means medium gold upper door paint.

Thank you all very much and happy holidays. I'm not sure what to do. Should I put a black stripe on it or not? What do you all think? I can get the exact specs for location on the 66-67 charger source guide site I see. With all the input recieved it is split weather it was standard or not.

Sorry, I will rephrase it. If a code exists in the mopar system to delete something, then that something would be standard equipment, otherwise there would be no need to delete it. If you didn't want that something, then you would not order it, and there would be no code on your data plate etc. There was no delete code for a radio or AC or cruise control etc. because they were not standard equipment. Your car has a stripe delete code on the tag, which means a stripe was standard.

Thank you for clarifying it. I get it now, that makes sense. Now the question I have to ask myself is what color would look best against the red paint. Thank you for the response.

Most red Chargers I have seen had a white roof stripe.
